Pool Hal.

It's not being negative when you get fed up with petty BS and childish, passive aggressive sniping. You just stuck up for yourself and said your piece.

Best,
Mike

Amen.Lou is a nobody, go to any big tournament and mention Stan and Pro1... He is legit
Lou on the other hand is a nobody who is only known on a pool forum and with nothing positive to say. Who cares? He can pay his entries and live with his spiteful non-playing self. Stan will be legend... Lou will be Lou

In my hunt for pool videos, which could be anywhere in my house, I came across this tiny, tiny CD. I have never seen anything like it before. It's like half the size of a normal CD, and on the case, it says "JAM Files."

I put it aside until this morning. I didn't think my desktop computer would play such a small thingie, but I inserted the little CD in my E drive, and what do you know, it had some data on it.

The first file folder had several dozen oldies, songs from the '60s era. Some of them were kind of bubble-gum music, but there was a little Motown, which I liked.

Then there was a PDF article entitled "9-Ball Racks My Pride and Joy." Then there is a 2-page Word document entitled Pool Hal.

What is this? Does anybody know?

I believe this is the infamous instructions from Hal Houle on aiming.

Disputed by some supported by others.

Well thanks there Spidler, for the Vomelet video. I was all set to play league tonight which means getting to eat out at our home bar as well. Pretty much just saved me
20 bucks on food.

Just kidding. Me has somewhat of a cast iron stomach. Pretty gross just the same.

I licked a Smelt on Sunday while fishing for good luck. Big ole Jack must have liked my tongue taste cause I got a hit in less than 30 seconds.

I have also smelt other things that smelt like smelt. But we won't go there.

I believe that I will have to re read that Word Doc again cause it has me more than a bit confused. I may have to ask someone in this thread for their proper direction.

Sounds most interesting tho and its free so that is the best part. I did hear at one time that Hal does know what he is talking about.

Hal knew the document was lacking and primarily put it out there for fun .

For fun or not, Hal traveled So. Calif for more than a year that I know of, teaching this very method. He gave no indication that it was a joke. He did say that it was one of many systems that he had. The system obviously has some gaps but it also makes many, many shots. He may, as well as you Stan, disclaim the validity of this system now but the fact is that he taught this system.

I did not use the word joke.

Dave Segal will gladly verify that posting it was for fun. As you said, there are gaps in the document. The document can work to some degree as is.

In DVD2 I will fill in the gaps that are necessary for much of Hal's work. Hal meant for there to be gaps and there are reasons for that . In DVD2 I will do my best at t tying all of The work together that is necessary for understanding CTE in a more complete way.

Since DVD2 is so close I prefer not to go into details at this time. I have been working on this project for a long time. I can assure you that my respect for Hal and his work is supreme. And Sunny, Hal 's wife, can verify his respect for me and my work with CTE.

I think you may be talking about the Capital City Classic that Strawberry ran, though I'm not sure. It was held at the Ramada, I think was the hotel (maybe the Shertaon), in Lanham, MD, right off the Beltway exit. It's the same place where the Dennis Wilson's Capital City Classic was held in January 2002, when I first met Keith. Keith, Jose Parica, and Cliff Joyner went on the road from the Derby City Classic in Louisville and traveled to Maryland for this event. Can you imagine seeing those three walk into a pool room? Well, they did make a stop in Morgantown, West Virgina, and got action at Joe's Bar with Frank -- or maybe it's Frank's Bar with Joe. :embarrassed2:

Tom Wirth won the one-pocket division in Strawberry's Capital City Classic, but I can't remember who won the 9-ball. Tom-Tom would remember, I'm sure.

I would love to get my hands on some of that vintgage video footage. I know someone who may have it, and I'll fire off an e-mail to him. :)

Stan, I'm going to stray off the topic of the thread to say I am so happy to see your son in college. Looks like he's very happy. Bravo! I wish you and your entire family sweet blessings always. :)

This is convient revisionism.

About 15 years ago, out of the blue, Hal called me at home one day and touted this very exact system and I told him why I thought it was hogwash. Sooooo NOW everybody is trying to claim "oh, it was just a joke," "it was just for fun," (and my favorite): "he left stuff out on purpose."

No he didn't. He was pushing this on anyone that would listen back during the RSB days and it's why no one would give him the time of day.

Hal knew exactly what he was doing! YOU were clueless and you still are.

You do understand hogwash, though. I am convinced of that.

Please let it go, Lou.

I've been to Hals's house about 50x. He said he left the pivot out on purpose because those who wanted to find it, would, from that famous post of his.

Hal never, ever believed that post was complete as is.

Hal's in very bad shape right now. It's best to let go of your petty bullsh1t and stop talking ill of the guy about shit that happened 10 to 15 years ago. His dimensia is so bad, he has no clue who you are, who I am or what AZB/RSB is.

Give it a rest. Stan is speaking from first hand experience and Hal told me the exact same thing. Show the man whatever microscopic amount of respect you have in your body and keep his name out of your mouth.

Contrary to what Lou would have you to believe, Hal would toy with people either in person or on the telephone.

I personally spoke to Hal Houle and he told me on MORE THAN ONE OCCASION, that he received a phone call from so and so and he purposefully led them astray.

If Hal didn't like you, he would toy with you. Maybe that's where all the hate started, with Hal having a little fun with some guys who took it personal.

And for what's it's worth, I read this information in the text format JAM provided many years ago, but Hal never shared this information with me personally.
