Here's what I know. Not much different than what's already being circulated.

Usually, after a business "failure" and upon re-entry into the marketplace, the failed business addresses and makes changes to it's business model in order to make sure that it doesn't fail again.
What, if any, changes is BB undertaking? Or do they just intend on doing more of the same exact thing that they did before and caused their failure?

Larry had an original vision, then altered that vision based on the advice of his peers, and upon launch at week #1, ultimately reverted back to his original plan due to obligations to the original investors. The result was... well, obviously far from ideal (hence the hiatus).
Doing one thing, promising another, and then being obligated to a third, certainly presents a problem or two.
Anyway, he's now giving BB a second push, this time more along the lines of what was suggested prior to launch. That means making everything free in hopes of building a fan base prior to attempting to monetize. He's also shifted the focus from live streaming, to tape-delay intended for TV networks.
It's a bold plan, but at least it's a little more financially viable. I personally love the game, and have put a ton of work into designing the studio, graphics, and stats system, so I'd love to see it succeed. At this point, all I can do is run a camera, and hope that Larry follows through this time around.
Well, I still wish you all lots of luck, but doesn't anyone there even consider that the product, itself, requires some tweaking in order to make the "plan" more viable. Just a thought.

Jimmy, that's just it. The product was a soft launch, intended to be refined over time, so that a proper product would be ready by the end of the regular season. Keep in mind there was no test run, no ...anything. Layers were supposed to be added, and changes made as needed, so that by playoffs, it would be ready.
The trouble is, problems compiled right from week 1, and ultimately made it impossible to make improvements to the product.
Larry and John G have been busy for months. I know they've been working hard, having meetings with all sorts of people, and Larry was even recently in Vegas taking care of some business. Players and staff have their fingers crossed that everything will be in place come November's relaunch, but in the end we can only wait and see.

Give it out for free, build interest tape the rest of the season with the hopes of using the built fan base to monetize it. I'm sure the interest is already there from third parties as well so long as it can be proven to have and or build fan base. In fact, I can see the initial hiccup as being a positive as with proper marketing if interest can be built, it will show that additional interest can built more readily. IOW it gives a baseline for what marketing can do as the sport is built.

Give it out for free?? I recollect that JCIN estimated that BB costs 50K/week. So the new and improved marketing plan is to dig a deeper hole in which the players and investors can bury themselves in. Makes sense to me.![]()
