Proposed TAR - TOI VS NO AIMING SYSTEM

the 10' Table is FAR more difficult because of the extra distance

You are talking about completely different games, when talking about a 9 footer and a 10 footer!

Yes, indeed, the 10' Table is FAR more difficult because of the extra distance, which increases ball pocketing challenges ... I would think this is obvious.

Oh Lordy, look who has joined the fray..John, you usually make sense, but you are almost incoherent, in your off the wall comparison's NONE of which has any bearing on CJ and I's dispute....Especially your 'acid test' remark..absolutely makes NO sense at all ? Are you off your med's today ?

I see you've also introduced the '10 footer' into the equation !..You've got CJ all excited now !...He is fortunate its not 1970, or I might own me a night club/pool room, in Texas !...'Cuz ya see, NO ONE played one pocket, any better than moi did, on the big track, and that included Mr Allen !..Its a matter of record, I was undefeated in Cochran's, on the 'biggie's'...But alas, I digress ! :o

(1)I'll DEFINITELY PLAY you One Pocket on a 10' table....you better put your seat belt on before you get on that ride....(2)There's no question the 10' Table is more challenging then the 9' table...(3)or do you want to argue that point as well?

I must admit that One Pocket on a 10' Table is FAR MORE CHALLENGING than One Pocket on a 9' Table.....(4)I don't even believe the "haters" will argue with me about that fact......and of course 'Two Shot Shoot Out' is more difficult on the "Large Track" as well. 'The Big Game is the Teacher'

Dear Mr. Wiley (Coyote ?)

Above, is your post # 651 in its entirety !..I set it up for you, for your EASY referal, as I go about making my point !..My point being, I wonder if you're capable of mounting an intelligent reply, if you continue to overlook, or IGNORE, everything you are replying to ?.. I am concerned, that you and your 'fan club president' (John B.) are approaching senility, at an alarming rate..I speak from experience on this subject !

For example, your response #1..How could you feel comfortable, issuing a challenge to someone almost twice your age, who is on the proverbial "banana peel" ?..(two of my son's, are at least 10 yrs. older than you)..The MANLY thing to do, would be to challenge me to 'one armed push-ups', or maybe 'arm wrestling' or, how about one of the 'martial arts' ? :o

As for your statement nos. 2 and 3...Couldn't you plainly see, That's exactly what I said ?.. Why, in the world, would I want to 'argue' the point ?..

As for your point (#4)..regarding the number of "HATER'S" you deal with...Those will surely dwindle dramatically, now that your "Fan Club Pres."(and VP Hawiian Eye) are on your team !..Mr Barton is known to have about 30 or 40 "Flames war's" going, simultaneously, so he should divert many of your 'hater's' away from you, to attack him..! Please note; In just this one unrelated thread,.. he has already absorbed one of your detractors, and they are now on course to play a $10,000 dollar challenge match ! (sometime this century !)

He will be good for one thing though..He can read you my posts, and explain their meaning to you, as it is obviously beyond your 'ken' ! :o...I hope you appreciate all the time I devoted, to pointing out your 'shortcoming's' :p

LMFAO! OMG, I've been made VP of something for once in my life. I feel like Dick Cheney now...hope I don't have to get a pacemaker installed.

For what it's worth, I think CJ may have to be VP to me because I think I'm at least a dozen years older than him and came to some of the same conclusions he has WAY before he did.

Sorry H.E.--You just disqualified yourself, from explaining anything to him, if you are in agreement with ANY of
Mr. Coyote's (excuse me, Mr. Wiley's) numerous misconceptions ! :)

The Roadrunner..(formerly known as 'the Duck')

PS..Please formally introduce yourself, so we can better communicate !..

As far as #1 is concerned, I simply didn't "real eyes" you were 98, my apologies, if that's the case I can see why you would be insulted by my "light hearted" challenge. ;)

As far as the rest of the answer, it was obviously directed at others that read this forum. Believe it or not when someone answers you they are well aware that others are going to read it and sometimes choose to agree, not argue the content of the discussion.

By the way, "Peacock" and "Scotty" said to say "HI" and wish you were still around to play golf .......Peacock and I played 36 holes yesterday so I got to hear a lot of your old stories in Ft. Worth.....I didn't know you used to live here, it's certainly a small world.

CJ "Coyote" Wiley (or a few use to call me "C Monster") - Scott Smith always announced me as the "FastGun from Dallas Texas".......btw I miss Scott Smith, I wonder where he is and if he's ok, he was a classic part of Pro Billiards in "the day".

With all your expertise, knowledge, skill, and moves, do you think you could "coach" a top young gun, straight shooter into beating CJ in one-pocket on a 10-foot now if you can't play him yourself?

Hawaii Dude,

If you play within 2 balls of the Coyote's speed,...with me coaching you at One Pocket, it would be STEALING ! Plus, I'm even sure I could coach you to victory, playing HIS game..2 foul 9 Ball ! ;)

PS..Make him put up a ton of cash though, because once he "real eyes's" how much trouble he's in, he'll know he could not buy enough "Acme Anti-Road-Runner" stuff, to keep him afloat !..

Do you whistle in a cemetery?

If that really happened - within 12 hours your player would be hiding in the bathroom, rocking back and forth, sucking his thumb, trying to find comfort by humming to himself.

Here's what the nationally acclaimed sportswriter wrote about "Road Players" -

Wiley was part of an elite underground group called “road players,” traveling pool assassins hiding below the radar y never showing their faces in tournaments.

“There were only around 30 of us,” says Wiley, who’s run a dozen racks without missing and won as much as $20,000 in a single night. “I’m talking about the solid ones, the guys who consistently got the cash.”

These players were known through the grapevine simply by their nicknames: Frisco Jack and One-Eyed Rd, Water-dog and Shaft Man, Big John and The Faceless Man. “We knew each other, and there was a camaraderie. We even worked together taking off scores, calling each other with steers into good games.

“In the pool world, the road player is the most respected, way more than the tournament winners. We’re not just great players. We’re a special bread. We have nerves strong enough to hold up for the big money. We have something extra—a killer instinct, an ice-cold hearts.” He pauses, then, unflinchingly, adds: “I had both in abundance.”

First off your one of my top five favorite players, but what CJ are we talking about? The CJ that had Earl applauding while you were putting on a clinic playing him on ESPN. Or the CJ that lost his cool and got his ass handed to him by J. Jones a little while ago.
How did your birthday go and what was Mary wearing?

It was certainly challenging to keep my cool under the lights with winter vests on that's for sure. I'm SO GRATEFUL, it was a "Blessing in disguise," when I got back to Dallas I reduced 21 pounds and am back to my normal playing weight. "Thank the Game".

And THANKS to Hunter Lombardo and Corey Deuel for telling me like it truly was in Tunica, they were right!....Hunter said "Listen, CJ, if you don't lose 20 pounds you will NEVER play your best....there's just no way!!!".....thanks, Hunter, you are the greatest teacher and friend any pool player could have.....I certainly owe you a debt of gratitude.

This is the CJ that is 190 instead of 211 (like in Tunica), and I will play anyone in the United States in Ft. Worth Texas at Rusty's Billiards for anywhere from $20. to $100 a game playing 'Two Shot Shoot Out' 9 Ball. This is just an attempt to get back in stroke, but as much as people like to talk they still haven't been down here to match up.

We also have a 10' Diamond Table being prepared to come to town and I'll play One Pocket with anyone in the country that's in the "Top 10" (although I'll save Shane for last). This is also an attempt to "get something going," and I will certainly struggle to play my best for the first 3 days, and then it will be very difficult to win....no matter who it is on the 10' table, especially playing 'Two Shot Shoot Out' 9 Ball.

Mary is as beautiful as ever and made me a nice cake, but the store didn't have enough candles.....no one "real eyeses" it, but I'm almost 100 years old now....time does fly. ;)

Its still 9ball with a flavor of one pocket added to it.These guy's would adapt pretty fast.Maybe your not betting enough to get these top guy's interested.

That's a really strong statement. Would you take another player like say Efren and make the stipulation that Efren could ONLY shoot what you tell him to and let him play CJ that way?

Play both games, one hole and 2 shot 9 ball?

(A well known pro from your era) once wanted to take me out and coach me with signals. I declined because I have enough trouble focusing on my own name much less trying to remember what the signals meant and not being obvious about getting them.

there was plenty of times I "over ruled" what Wade told me to shoot

I played Richie Richardson One Pocket back before I played (one pocket) with Wade Crane coaching me. It helped me a lot because I had never played much and didn't know the strategy. We caught on and ended up winning over $6,000. so it does make a difference, but there was plenty of times I "over ruled" what Wade told me to shoot because I saw something I could execute better.......that was just as impactful. single match..

Play both games, one hole and 2 shot 9 ball? <--Yes, but Effy would have to put up his half for that game !

Lets try and stay realistic John !..Surely you are aware, that coaching Efren against the 'Coyote'..would be a little different than coaching YOU, against another APA 3 !...
