Proposed TAR - TOI VS NO AIMING SYSTEM

I played Richie Richardson One Pocket back before I played (one pocket) with Wade Crane coaching me. It helped me a lot because I had never played much and didn't know the strategy. We caught on and ended up winning over $6,000. so it does make a difference, but there was plenty of times I "over ruled" what Wade told me to shoot because I saw something I could execute better.......that was just as impactful. 'Game is the Teacher'

Now I have a better line on your game !..It is only 'modesty' (YOU may need to google that word) that prevents me from divulging how I use to play Wade, or Richie !..Lets just say there was
"weight" involved, with both ! :o

Mr. Wil-ey,..If you are going to tell 'brag' stories, you need to step up your 'cast of characters' a notch or two !

If that's what you think the difference is you're ill informed. Maybe you should try playing the game sometime.....ball in hand has nothing to do with it. :D

Play Well, Game is the Teacher

Player's are going to still run out.Taking away bih by adding the roll out is much like a good safety battle in Texas express.I understand the guarding of 6 pocket's from selling out may require more thought.(maybe)

Is it easier to run 9 ball's in 6 pockets or 8 in one?Your rite ...I dont understand the game....well not at your level.

Lets try and stay realistic John !..Surely you are aware, that coaching Efren against the 'Coyote'..would be a little different than coaching YOU, against another APA 3 !...

I am uncoachable. Just ask Parica. I once said to Jose, I see what you are doing, I understand what you want me to do, I still can't do it.

most people don't, SJD, have such a low self esteem. 'Game is the Teacher'

That wasn't a "brag story" it was a story about having a coach playing One Pocket because that was the subject and topic of our discussion (see below).

If you play within 2 balls of the Coyote's speed,...with me coaching you at One Pocket, it would be STEALING ! SJD - POST #671

I hang around a lot of sports celebrities in Dallas and we have an understanding that "it's only bragging if it isn't true"......sorry, you are offended, most people don't, SJD, have such a low self esteem. 'Game is the Teacher'

How many balls did they have to spot you?

Ok let's go full circle.

SJD and Chris travel to Dallas to play CJ on the ten footer. Chris is coached by SJD and has do exactly what SJD says or it's a foul.

Chris doesn't want to learn on the job so he will have a coach tell him exactly what to do and won't have to figure it out, he just has to execute whatever SJD tells him to do.

Do we finally have a matchup?

Shane, Dennis, and Earl proved that the rotation players run balls better

How many balls did they have to spot you?

I don't think it registers with him that Wade and I won against a very advanced One Pocket player before I ever had played the game.....and they say how difficult it is???

You do have to learn how to read the table playing One Pocket and it does take about 3 weeks (for players of our caliber), but after that the actual game is easy. It's mostly banking balls towards your pocket or away from theirs. ;)

Cue ball control is vital {in one pocket}, but the actual shots are simple, as a matter of fact that's one of the "secrets" to playing great one pocket is to "keep it simple stupid" (KISS).....you won't "KISS and win" playing 'Two Shot Shoot Out' 9 Ball.

Shane, Dennis, and Earl proved that the rotation players run balls better than the One Pocket "movers"......Scott Frost, Efren and Chip do both very well, but most "one pocket players" won't shoot at anything tougher than a "spot shot".

Dear Mr.Clock Doctor..Your comprehension capabilities, must be below even the Coyote's level !..My reluctance to brag, was certainly not because I was the recipient of any weight involved !.. I was chiding Mr Wil-ey, because his naivte, (okay, I was making fun of him)..becomes more apparent with every post he makes ! :boring2: :boring2: :boring2:

I was inferring, that he needs to step up his 'brag' a little, if he wants to impress me (or ANY knowledgable one pocket player) regarding his history of 'destroying' ANYBODY at the game !..To further explain, Mr. Coyote needs to extol (aka brag about) his [sic] amazing accomplishments, with a more upscale player/coach pairing !

I loved and respected Boom, Boom, for his many skills..But, for Mr. Coyote to look up to him, as a 'One Pocket genius' only tells me he does not have a clue about the game. (now or then)..If he needed a coach to play RR, I shall have to discount about 95% of his colorful 'war stories' !

The Roadrunner

PS..It don't make him a bad guy, just makes him "full of beans" ! :p

Wade Crane would have crushed you......literally. He was a stand up guy in my book, and I'll always have fond memories of him.

Sorry if I struck a nerve..but your reply was a little below the belt sir !..Some would even take it as an insult !..Lets keep it a 'light hearted' debate !.. Does my last paragraph (below) show ANY lack of respect, for Wade's character or ability ?...He was a great guy, and I too enjoyed our times together !

CJ, you really need to work on your comprehension skills...You tend to read what you want to read, and ignore the rest !..And yes, he probably would have "crushed me" playing 9 ball...One pocket would have been, (and was) quite the opposite...Sorry !

Meanwhile on onepocket.org......

Very funny, but true Justin, we take our game very serious !....Although we do make allowances for the
"three weeker's", who have NOT been able to grasp the finer points of one pocket, in more like 30 years !

Plus, the learning curve is MUCH steeper for 9 ballers, who can't even seem to master 'Texas Express' !..:p :p :p :p :p

Example;--Also, CJ has intimated, that he believes in 'life after death' !...
Well, heres a 'Nine-baller' who was reincarnated as a dog named Sammy !..
..(some of the better player's, have been known to come back as 'Coyote's') ;)

Maybe you don't know what literally means.....Wade's hands were like vices. You do know what vices are don't you? Some old time players, SJD, have many vices.

We both knew that! Just funning with you.

Trying to break up the monotony.

I'll be still.

Carry on.

JCIN looks like he has it covered anyway.

CJ, if you truly believe that all there is to playing good One Pocket (either banking balls toward your hole or away from theirs), then I see why you think "roll out" 9-Ball is harder. I'm sorry to be the one to tell you that you haven't even skimmed the surface yet as to what makes One Pocket the great game that it is.

As good as you play Rotation games, I suspect any good One Pocket player would be able to beat you. Someone say like Ike Runnels or Chris Gentile. Not one of the best players, just a competent One Pocket player. Just saying....you don't have a clue based on your remarks here. Maybe you are just stalling trying to get a game. If so good luck. You did say you gave Slim 15-5, so you must know something.

P.S. You will shoot far more combinations, billiards and kicks then you ever will playing any form of 9-Ball. It's not even close here as well. But what do I know, I'm just a guy in a diner, not a former ESPN "World Champion."
