Are you guys referring to Cigar Tom out of Baltimore? If so, I live in Baltimore and have always heard the name but never met the man. Then I was at the Top Hat and heard someone say he worked there and he was in his 70s. I was like well tell me who he is next time he come in. They said hes the guy who just gave you the balls for the table. I still havent seen him shoot. What a nice man and I sure hope I look that good when I am in my mid 70s.

Wasn't the offer something like "Any game, on any table, for any amount Gene can post?"

Hobby Lobby has a sale right now, I can pick up a frame for the Grudge Match 2 poster if this goes anywhere...

BWAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAA!!! Greenie.

I haven't really been following this whole Rhea/Geno thing - but is there video of Rhea anywhere? There's an awful lot of talk speculating skills from banger to shortstop and was curious if there was anything a bit more concrete to judge?

They were just on the live stream the other day with Archer, KK9, and Pinklady. I don't know if there is anything youtube related or not (to show the stroke/stance/run out etc)

Thats him, Tom has played every great player in his era, gambled playing even 9 ball with Strickland and rempe, broke even with both of them guys at 50 a game.

Just ask Tom, he is still very sharpe today, with a great memory!

Johnny, Rhea is from here. I beat her the last c player tourney we had at the rail. That was a couple years ago but she is no spring chicken and I would guess prob about your speed right now at best.

I played him when I was 20 living in Tampa Florida

You got it CJ, Tom will be delighted to hear what you had said about him!

Plus this will get Tom talking about old times, which i love to hear the stories!

I played Tom Vanover when I was 20, living in Tampa Florida. My first "house" was a trailer I bought there - I had my own orange tree which I thought was really cool

Here's a picture with one of my "oranges".....at least they would soon turn orange. ;)

I believe I played you at the Green Parrot in Tampa, now that I see this picture. Johnnyt

Yes, I guess it's ok to reveal my true identity after almost 30 years. ;) Strong Arm John and I won a fortune in Florida back during that time period, especially in the Miami area, including Key Largo and Key West.

I also toured the state in an 'Air Brush Magic' truck with a crew from Indiana playing anyone and everyone. We had everyone believing we were there selling T-Shirts and other Airbrushed merch. What a wild time when every town had pool action and their own "town champion".......I'm glad we all got to see those times, it's certainly different now.
