Nothing is apparent......
Nothing against you or Gene but i had clinics booked up for 4 days and now apparently Gene is taking my students from me. After me getting a call today and this is not good business at ALL. Complete disrespect working with the pool room i was planned to work in for 4 days, planned 2 months in advance.
Hi there Lee,
I really don't have any competition. What i teach nobody really deep down teaches it.
As far as what i do, if I don't give the 15 minute mini lessons the players don't know what I teach or how important it is to know. In 15 minutes i could show you the same and you would say, WOW. I never saw that before or didn't even know that was happening with the eyes.
But of course I teach every aspect of the game and try to help the player that books a full paying lesson with many other parts of the game they are obviously having trouble with.
Teaching pool and helping players play better is not rocket science. I hear you do a great job and I told many of the players here that they are lucky to have you coming.
The more we do it the better we get at it. So we both have a big edge over other teachers in that aspect. If I only did one lesson a month I might have a problem remembering what to teach or how to teach it effectively.
At Break Away they have leagues 5 nights a week and the place is packed. Filling up about 20 tables with league players. That's at least 60 players for sure each night. Times 5 that is 300 players. Some of them do play on 2 nights so maybe it's only about 250.
If my 5 to 7 lessons here so far have kept the other 200 plus players from signing up with you that's kind of weird.
I hope you still come. Doing lessons in a pool hall is more than just putting up a flier or 2 and hoping that they sign up before you come. it's selling yourself and what you do after your here. And like myself I'm sure that's where you get many lessons from because i heard that you do a great job.
When I go to a pool hall and do a few lessons my lessons grow like a snowball as they are here at Break Away. My lessons sell themselves by other players talking about the amazing things that they learned.
The mini lessons should help you when you get here because I'm awakening their interest in seeing that they need to learn if they want to get better.
There are many players that can't afford a full lesson but do learn some valuable stuff with my mini lesson. I'm really glad that I can help them a little also. But the ones that do the full lesson really learn some good things.
What i do is not all about me but helping players everywhere I go play better. It's about helping the pool room by helping the players play better so they play more because they're playing better. The game is more fun.
I assure you that there are plenty of students here for sure and a good teacher could stay here for a month for sure.
Every player i teach is very lucky they learned what they learned from me and I'm sure it is the same for you.
I don't know how many players you sign up from a flier hanging in the room.
With my reputation in the pool world and the success I have with teaching players I have no trouble getting lessons. Maybe I should try putting up fliers myself before i go to a room. Maybe then i would get no sleep at all. 10 lessons a day.
We all can learn something from everyone.
If I'm still here I'll share a little bit of Perfect aim with you when you come. I'm not being a smart aleck , but it would help enhance what you already teach.
Good Luck with your work.
Gene..........
