Yes, I sure did. I visited the studio on more than one occasion. I met the owners. I met the players. I met the production crew. I met the referee. I learned the game. I liked the game. I purchased the full live stream package. And I enjoyed every minute of it. But I haven't enjoyed losing the money I've personally "invested" in this project, nor have I enjoyed seeing the direction it has taken since June.
I am definitely guilty (if you wish to call it that) of getting behind Bonus Ball. I did that because I thought pool could use a new boost, and I thought Bonus Ball had a chance of providing such. I am also guilty of believing the story that the owner and money backers for Bonus Ball had the funds to sustain the game as planned for at least two years - and were willing to do so. I was told that they realized it would take a while to sell the package to viewers and the media, but that they were committed to accomplishing just that. It now appears that those claims were totally untrue.
I feel very bad for Lee Brett and all the players. If there's new money behind Bonus Ball now, why couldn't they make things right with Lee before hiring a new referee? And why couldn't they honor their original agreement with the players, instead of cutting their per-match salary to 1/3 of what they were supposed to get?
I highly dislike lying and deceitful practices, and I've just been waiting until all the players can get paid for the current filming they are doing before saying anything on the subject; but Lee's thread has brought the problem to the forefront and made it time for me to explain my position in all this.
Thank you for forcing me out.
