The document of our pool related road trip across the U.S. updated daily

I haven't taken an extreme exception to your opinions on Rhea John.

OK, I apologize for derailing the Rhea thread and yourself.

Lets get back to the task at hand.

Lets talk about Rhea.

....Pinky, ask Lou if he is going to play JB at the SBE. I bet he is planning on it but I doubt that game will ever go off....

i'll ask him tomorrow & let yáll know after dinner.
you keep everyone civil. i'm too tired (intoxicated), to read 3 pgs of dribble @ 4AM that have nothing to do w/ Rhea & Gene. they are both "grown-ass adults" & how Rhea chooses to use this information is entirely up to Rhea.

;)

Exactly.

Rhea should make up her own mind after reading the life stories of several advisers.

Perhaps she should go get a 50k job in a pool room that has a house pro who is a former world champion to learn from. :-)

They're called "bums" :)

Well, even bums are more free than the average person tied to a job and a family. Probably not happier but certainly free with as much mobility as they can afford.

But I also like the way Cher puts it, 'I have lived without money and lived with money and with money is way better'.

Somebody said that before Cher. "I've been rich and I've been poor. Rich is better. Johnnyt

The only thing bums are free to do is starve and beg. If being a starving, cold vagrant is someone's idea of freedom, I'll go with indentured servant. That has to be one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. There's a big difference between being free to dream, think about, consider or even attempt and actually having the wherewithal to afford to do something you want to do. If you were in prison, you could dream, think about, consider and possibly even attempt to do something. Unfortunately, you wouldn't be able to do it.

I am not sure if it was Jefferson or Hamilton but... their approx. def. was -- A Free Man is a Man with property unencumbered by debt.. which is the one I like.. I also agree with Cher

Well, I was only trying to be funny.. that was a line from Pulp Fiction, don't be so serious all the time... Well, to be fair, you are tied to a family and job, and I don't see you complaining :)

PULP FICTION: Samuul L. Jackson (jules) John Travolta (vincent)

VINCENT So if you're quitting the life, what'll you do?
JULES That's what I've been sitting here contemplating. First, I'm gonna deliver this case to Marsellus. Then, basically, I'm gonna walk the earth.
VINCENT What do you mean, walk the earth?
JULES You know, like Caine in Kung Fu. Just walk from town to town, meet people, get in adventures.
VINCENT How long do you intend to walk the earth?
JULES Until God puts me where he want me to be.
VINCENT What if he never does?
JULES If it takes forever, I'll wait forever.
VINCENT So you decided to be a bum?
JULES I'll just be Jules, Vincent – no more, no less.
VINCENT No Jules, you're gonna be like those pieces of shit out there who beg for change. They sleep in garbage bins, they eat what I throw away. They got a world for 'em, they're called bums. And without a job, residence, or legal tender, that's what you're gonna be – a fuggin bum

If you have property you have debt. A free person is a person unencumbered by anything and anyone.

A "bum" is a person who begs and lives off the handouts from others. Not all homeless people are bums. Some travel and work enough to survive spending their free time exploring their surroundings and being active in community stuff or causes. When they want to move on they do.

As the saying goes a journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. Not everything you attempt in life has to be bought and paid for before you do it.

You can live to work or work to live. You can work hard now and enjoy life later or enjoy life now. Or any combination of this. There is no set way to live.

Ever heard of a boiler room? Not the kind with a water heater. A boiler room in sales is telemarketing operation. They churn through people because it is a mentally rough job. But it is the kind of job that is available in every city in the usa all the time with practically unlimited income potential. Any good salesperson always can find work in these places. Always.

People who want to work can always find work somewhere. People who want to survive will survive.

The bottom line in this entire thread from beginning to now is desire and dedication.

Just to put all the controversy to rest, Gene has decided not to quit pool and therefore when he is ready to start playing again in January I will be on the road with him again. So you can go back to your regularly scheduled Mosconi cup talk.

Good to hear. Regularly scheduled programming resuming.
