The document of our pool related road trip across the U.S. updated daily

The funny thing is I have been exactly where she is I just played better. I had no home to go to or anyone to take care of me and I thought the road was the answer. So my advice is based on the fact that I know this 50k a year job is way better then the other path I was on.

Be careful acting like you know what people have been through. Most people wouldn't of made it a week in my shoes at the time.

Not acting like anything. Just telling you that life is not as serious as some people are making it out to be.

Life works out for most people one way or the other. Regardless of what you did in your life you can't live Rhea's. You can report on your experience and if that influences her then great, you did your part according to your conscience.

But again her life is not your life. Me personally if I was at the crossroads she is at I would go it on my own as far as I could go and either make it or see I could not and then choose another path.

When I was 15 I got into it with my dad and ran away from home. I had $12. I went into an open garage and took a sleeping bag, snuck into a boat and spent the night there, hitch hiked 80 miles to Santa Barbara and was building a fire on a beach to cook some hot dogs. It was a tourist area and a man in his 20's came up and struck up a conversation with me. He wanted to know why I was cooking food on the beach. I told him what happened. We talked for a good 20 minutes and he finally talked me, in a very nice way, into going home. I don't think he intended on leaving me until I agreed to go home.

To this day I think of this young guy and wonder why he came up to me and why he cared if I went home. I still consider it some of the best advice I have ever had. He was a complete stranger but it was obvious he cared about doing the right thing. I am extremely grateful to this day that he did talk me into it. I would love to find him and let him know that, but I know it will never happen. Thanks to his advice, I returned home and all was well.

Rhea, you may not have this option, but you definitely have marketable skills. Make the right decision so that you may look back and thank yourself one day.

I would do the same for a teenager if they had a home worth going back to. When I left my mom at 13 there was no home to go back to.
I never went back.

A lot of you are looking at life as being good when you have a dwelling and a paycheck.

Some people see that as not much better than being a slave chained to convention.

Millions are modern nomads who own very little and who travel the country and the world doing what they can when they need to in order to fund their journey.

Seems Rhea has a gambling problem and it seems like she knows it. That is a separate issue to what she should do from here.

For the issue of say becoming a pro. Well I might head to Buddy Hall and offer to be his assistant and girl Friday in exchange for all he could teach. I might go find a pool room that wants to exchange some marketing skills for unlimited table time.

There are a lot of possibilities for someone who is not tied down. That's what a lot of you are not getting.

What is the price of freedom? Are you really free? I am not and I doubt many of you are either. Would you like to be free to pick up and head any direction you like? I bet some of you yearn for that. Some of you think that you have to buy this freedom with money. Others know that freedom is free if you are brave enough to grab it.

If you insist, I'll dig up his info. He finally became famous after getting his big break on TV. Handsome guy. The thing is, he was only on one episode. When they finally tracked him down, he was given free room and board for his troubles. Something about he liked to "collect" young boys. Maybe you should be grateful you weren't his flavor.

Oh does she have a 50k job now?

Sounds like she left a very lucrative job to be at the point where she is at now.

There is no reason that she can't be in contact with that very same company or another like it.

Pinky, ask Lou if he is going to play JB at the SBE. I bet he is planning on it but I doubt that game will ever go off.

There will be a ton of excuses as to why that proposed game didn't happen.
It will be an epic 500 pager. Guaranteed. And at the beginning and at the end, it will all be Lou's fault.

That, I will put 100 bucks on and will gladly pay up if I am wrong.

Make me wrong John and I will gladly pay pal you a 100 dollar bill. You can put it toward your loss against Lou.

Wrong about what? I will bet you $100 that I will standing at the table ready to play. Bet?

I can't make Lou play. I can only party on the 3k he will forfeit if he doesn't play.

As for what she left, what she had is one thing and where she is at is another. If she has the option to step into a decently paying job anytime then that's all the more reason to go try to follow a pool dream.

Best post in this thread.... By far!

John, my bet was for a friendly bet to you.
Copy and paste it. I won't forget that I made it. If I lose the bet, I will gladly pay you off.

If you show and play or you are there to play and Lou doesn't, then I will pay up.

That is considering that Lou is actually there to play or is there but backs out for some reason.

My bet is that both of you are there and you find a way to back out of it and the game doesn't happen.

If Lou is there but backs out, then my bet is still good.

I am completely confused. I will be there. If am there and ready to play you lose.

Don't know where all this bs on your part is coming from but if I don't play I forfeit $3000 which would make your $100 irrelevant.

The only guy who said he won't play so far is Lou who wants an appearance fee.

So rather than betting anything with me why don't you just pay Lou's appearance fee and take away his excuse for not playing.

I'm not paying Lou's appearance fee. My bet is that both of you are there and you find an
excuse to not play.

Sorry that I am not a high roller like you and that my 100 is irrelevant.

No, if you are there, which you are going to be anyway, and Lou is there and you figure a way to back out the bet is off.

If you actually play Lou, you get a 100. I'm betting that you will find a way to back out, even if he is there.

Play him and I send you a 100.

Bet. Free $100 no brainer. I am already betting 3k on not backing out so I happily accept you free roll for $100 more.

Who is holding the $6,000 post money? Sorry if it's in this thread somewhere, I missed it. Johnnyt

Its not going to happen Johnny. Hes already had 2 of his chest thumping threads re him and Lou deleted. Its totally my fault for derailing this thread.

JB would love to turn this thread or any other into another, lets talk about me thread.

He can't stand for any other to get attention and not him.

The game won't happen. Either Lou won't be bothered to show and if he does, John will figure a way not to play.

Simple.

Lets talk about Rhea. She is more important than allowing John to pound his chest.

Let's recap here shall we. I posted ONE thing as to my point of view and you and you and you and you went off like rockets on me because my perspectives doesn't fit YOUR idea of how life goes and what people should do.

You are just being an ass over it. As for Lou and I the threads are not deleted. He is the one threatening to forfeit not me. So learn to follow along.

Bet 10.000 that I will be standing there ready to play. You are as nitty as Lou is with your nonsense.

Way I see it is you are both bullies. Oh gee I don't see life the way you do so beat me up over it. Real nice.

I see, now its bet 10K.

Do you think that I care one way or the other that you or Lou play. I don't.

Lets talk about Rhea.

You must because you brought it up. I have been talking about Rhea the whole time giving her examples from my life just as you, motorcycle daredevil, have also done.

All of us have put in our opinion only a couple of you have taken extreme exception to mine as if you hold the magic key to happiness and success in life.
