Anyone post links? I can't watch from the JW player.![]()
I like Earles idea of taking away the side pockets. I wonder what that would be like to play on?? I think it would be OK.
I can see the Strickland line of tables coming!!
Unable to watch it from here too. It says server not found.
Was watching it on Hahasport yesterday. Anyone using that link to watch?
I love it how the Americans continually try to create new gaffe games to be introduced as some kind of standard. Like no side pockets. Or races to 100, etc. the world got smaller for the USA. They are no longer the dominant force. That's why no American can win an event with an international field, which is only defined as a field with half the players from Europe and Asia (which must contain Chinese, Taiwanese and Japanese players). And yes, the US open is not an international event. Can't be considered a major without full representation from those countries.
Relying on Hatch and Morris to stop Europe from winning this entire thing is not so reliable...especially being the worst two players on the US team going up against the two best players on the team.
The Euros are exponentially more talented at winning team based races to six.
Not one of them wouldn't be a twenty game underdog to SVB in a race to 100. Not one of them would play Johnny even ten or nine ball. The US side has many problems. Talent for the actually playing the game is not one of them.
The problem with the US is not talent. It is that they have zero leadership and are stuck with the most toxic player ever put on any team in any sport. Personally I am glad the Euro's smoked them the way have. It shines a spotlight on how screwed up US pool is. Maybe some things can be changed.
Thank you!!!
So playing a long race is a gaffe.
Because a race to six really shows who the best player is.
Just to ensure I understand the format, if Team Euro wins this match, then that is THE END of the Mosconi Cup?
No. This event was over 2 days ago. The last 2 days was the exhibition.
News Flash ... Their not playing races to 100 they are playing short sets that require you to be sharp from the get go ,, I would say the Eruo's get bored in a race to 100 gimmick they they are not geared to play ,,,
The leadership has nothing to do with it

I thought it was a race to 11.

If Hatch and Morris can get rolling they are a tough team to beat...look at the 2010 MC. They are both lefty's and they play about the same style...All they have to do is get some momentum building and its possible they can keep us in it another round.
Race to 6 is affected by lucky rolls WAY more than a longer race. Which is why every pro player would rather play races to 11 or 15 in pro tournaments. Listen to the commentary by players during matches, MANY times I have heard them say races to 7 and even 9 are a bit short to really show the best player.
Which is why they play long races or multiple long sets in TAR. At the end, there is no doubt who played best. You can get a roll or two and get up a few games, you won't be living by your luck over 25+ games and the better player will catch up.
I've seen crappy players want to gamble but all they want to do is play races to 2 or 3 so they can win by making a 9 on the break or get a lucky safe when they miss and that's the set.
How many Team USA players have you talked to face to face this week about whats going on?
I will bet its less than me. But you probably know more about whats going on.
