Darren Appleton Responds to Money Match Challengers :-)

I play races to 100 for money bottom line...I would consider playing 2 races to 50...Dennis Hatch

Sub.....

I am willing to stake SVB for two sets the first 20K at Derby in 10Ball and 20K in England on a Diamond Table in 10 ball. We can work out the races, I like a race to 25 each day best of out five at each venue. I also would be okay with an all around format that could also include 8 ball, 1 pocket, bar table pool etc...

I enjoy dealing with Darren and everyone he hangs around with as they all seem to be stand up people.

Scribed! It's good to see John and Dennis posting and great initial post Darren!

There were only about two or three of them. Not nearly enough to fill a bandwagon. It sounds like you're a little tilted.

I do not believe I am tilted but I had a post earlier before the Mosconi cup where multiple people saying the Euro's would get robbed here and they can't play under any pressure etc I just like how someone with more credibility than me has said the same. Go to Sweden, Holland, Germany, Spain,Greece, UK and play hohmann, feijen, van den berg, Alacide,Nikos, Melling, Boyes, Shaw, Hundal and see how you do. Just iritated how many do not give the European game any respect when they have dominated the last 8 or so years and thats not just the Mosconi its internationally also.

When will SVB do any damage on forn soil? Granted he is top player but he hasnt accomplished what Corey has of yet to be held in the same breath (not saying he wont) but just like the Mosconi the USA players are doign everything with their mouth whereas the Euros/Asians let their cue do the talking.

A few clarifications:
The Europeans are so far ahead of the American players that if things don't change radically, they will never catch up. We are talking about the junior players right on up through the cream of the crop.

Shane is a great player when he is gambling or performing for the TAR cameras. And although he Is nothing more than just an above average player in international events with world class talent, he's still miles ahead of Corey.

Sure, SVB has US events sewn up, but tourneys like the US open are nothing more than glorified regional events. If the Asian contingency of Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese or Philippino's aren't included, you're not competing in a world class field. Period. Any wins without them is equivalent to winning turning stone or the US open. A nice pay day but they hardly belong on a champions resume.

You must not have heard how those two are now just bangers...

Shane will never get the respect from the haters. Even if he wins every tournament played on the planet. If he did then it would be only because (insert excuse here.) Sure he's not as strong away from home, but who is? Let the haters hate.

Anyone who said the Euro Mosconi Team would get robbed this year was obviously way off base. I never read any Mosconi Cup threads before the event. It doesn't really interest me that much.

I'd like to see some American players get into action in Europe. A number of American players have gone to the Philippines to match up for money as has Darren. The other Euros haven't. American players haven't been in the tournaments as much. There are reasons for that which aren't related to their skill.

Not only Daz, Neils Feijen gambled in Phillipines also

And the nut huggers, hug.

You, 'Hungarian', are the one who is overflowing with animosity in this forum. You gave me red rep in the past for simply correcting someone's factual error. You are less than one step behind internet sensation 'Pathetic Shark' in your trolling activities.

Now go run to Mr. Wilson and cry a river.

Cor! I've never been an internet sensation before. How do you monetise it?

ten pages in...

did we get any challengers then?

yup. Bartram, and maybe Shane. Dennis also offered races 2 races to 50, or 1 race to 100. (I think he knows Darren doesn't want to play.) No word from Rodney, and I don't think we will here from Rodney...

Couldn't agree more, and yes the talent of the field does make the win less credible of course it does. Again I am not against SBV or his ability I believe he has world class ability HOWEVER when is ability enough? O'Sullivan most gifted cueist in the world but still has broke Hendry's records or Davis for that fact. point being I am new to pool so only followed last few years but SVB has not gone and dominated like the others have for example Mika, Daz when they had that spell when they won everything home and abroad. When he does then he will be in the same capacity.

I hope we can get a stream fo the Chinese 8 ball invitational I personally think 8 ball is SVB best game but they play on basically a snooker table with pool balls, it was a great tournament last year and was won by Gareth Potts an English 8 ball player. Easier for him to transition to bigger balls than it was for the pool players to go to smaller pockets I presume.

It doesn't make it less credible. It's not the winner's fault the whole world showed up.

EVERYONE gambles in the Philippines or you won't get a game!

P.S. We may get our wish very soon. Stay tuned for Darren vs. Dennis Orcollo. It could happen shortly, IF we can get all the pieces in place!

Orcollo is a more appropriate opponent for a champion like Daz. He shouldn't waste his time with scufflers like Rodney and hatch. Quite frankly, it's beneath him.
