craigslist Balabushka

Nobody is selling anything here?? I thought this forum was for folks from AZB selling their goods, not some guy on another site getting promoted here every 5 minutes....

Here ya go,

For sale $350.00 It's a Balabushka, Eddie gave it to me.

Jakerold is selling a Balabushka. He is sending it to Pete Tascarella to get a letter of authenticity. If this cue is authentic, it is quite rare, which is exciting to the people on this site who actually buy interesting cues. The opportunity to buy a Balabushka like this one is a very big deal.

While this cue is going to Pete, lets talk about it (if you want). Great George-esque fancy butt. Looks to have a leather wrap which is a huge add. Gus-looking rings which are the bomb. I guess it would be a Spain maple blank? Maybe I've seen one of those (maybe not). late 1973 could be Gus? George would added that 1/2 circle inlay just above the wrap? Then those kinda Rambow looking dots in the arm? I think I maybe have once seen a Bushka with one dot in each position but this one has dots everywhere. And what's with that ring above the wrap?

If the cue is right, that George business card receipt is KILLER.

Lots of guys have said it's too birds-eye to be a George, but I don't see that.

Lots of questions and few answers from me. Fill me in!

WOW reading the responses to this thread IMHO is like reading MAD magazine.

This cue is 100% a Balabushka, 100% a Spain forearm, and if I owned 35k in cues by any living cuemakers, they would all be for sale to buy this cue. In fact if I owned 50k in living cuemakers cues I would take 35k and then buy this cue.

I don't see anything in the pics that doesn't look George, aside from the sheer uniqueness of it....which initially made me question it, too. It's humorous to see and hear things like so-and-so would have never done that (i.e. figured maple in the blank). We've all heard that one a lot. This cue is proof that you just never know what all was done or tried. It's emergence is also what continues to excite us fellow cue junkies, because you can't help wonder what other gems are out there, unknown or undiscovered to our little community. :)

And here I figured your lack of response meant you were a player for it.

Kevin

If I was a player for it, it would be mine already.

I would bang rosie o donnel for the money to buy this cue. :)

That is the bushka wedding band ring. I have seen less than 5 cues where that ring in over the wrap.

If that number is 4, that's 4 more than I've seen.

But then, we all don't see many of them fancy Balabushka cues all the way out heah.

I keep coming back to this thread, I can't get over the Balabushka listed here. I really would love to buy it. It would be in good company.

I hope you're not referring to my post, since it apparently seems,to be figured wood, and rare.
I was not being sarcastic, I was mildly in shock, however.

This is the biggest waste of time thread in the WFS section.

Seriously there is NOTHING for sale but only a link to a cue on craig's list. There have been many veteran members here that are completely ignoring the rules of the forum. And then you guys whine when the rules are not followed by others and YOUR thread gets pushed on to page 10 within a few hours.

This thread should be deleted.

This thread has almost 5,000 views so obviously people are interested.

The cue listed in this thread IS for sale and the owner came here to talk about it.

While this thread may be over bumped; I think it is due to the rarity and overall excitement generated by this rare cue.

Regardsless of the reason it's overbumped, it's against the rules. And overly so.

This is complete BS and should be in another forum NOT wanted for sale if you all want to have a discussion.

But as usual, most of you don't give a $hit unless it effects YOU directly.

I just love the emotions that this thread has brought up.
finally something interesting to read.
Instead of what's the best cue-joint-tip- shaft- chalk-etc. for the millionth time.

Tom;

While I agree that this thread has been bumped way more than w/fs forum rules allow, you have to agree this bushka is a rare one, indeed, and therefore, perhaps some leniency may be in order.

Added to the uniqueness of the cue was how the seller came to find az and was met with some friendly, sage advice from members interested in helping. I admit to being guilty of enjoying what's being discussed here as I find it to be an opportunity to pick up some much needed knowledge on these rare cues.

And, fwiw, the seller is now a member here and has taken the advice and will have this cue (which was his brothers) authenticated by Pete Tascarella and says he will be taking the next steps to sell it, so I guess it is a cue for sale .

There does not appear to have been any bad intent by the op of this thread in giving a headsup about this cue being listed in craigslist nor does there appear to have been any bad intentions by the seller in coming here to discuss it.

It's a really interesting cue and topic, imo, and I think a little leniency is a good thing.

Hell, never knew what a "bushka wedding ring" was until this morning.

thanks.

best,
brian kc
