Lou wants more

I don't understand why you believe folks won't want to watch this. Just because they won't be playing perfect pool shouldn't take away from the matchup. That's the real allure of contests of skill, who can defeat who on a given day...not how perfect they play.

These two have been at each other for years, here and on the other previous formats. There are plenty of people who have encountered each of these guys over those years. And have witnessed the back and forth. There is plenty of backstory here.

I think there will be a very good number of people watching this. I plan on watching some, as I can, due to other obligations.

So you're not going to sit through it all, like I said?

It's pretty hard to sit & watch 8 straight hours of pool no matter who's playing.
And on the west coast it's gonna start at 1pm on a Tue. I would think most people will be at work still.
I'll definitely toon in when I can.

I know. I will put it up on YouTube and every other spot I can when we are done.

That way people can see Lou lose to the guy he tried to bully. As many times as they like. Every shot he dogs will be preserved forever.

Yeah, it would be different if a person was able to be at the match where they could see all the woofing, side betting, have a few drinks etc. To watch it all online would be probably tough. Regardless, not too much longer and it is on. It should make for an interesting post match thread.

This whole thing has done more to promote aiming systems than anything else we have ever done. Lou has achieved exactly the opposite of his mean-as spirited bully tactics trying to put down aiming systems and defaming the students and teachers of those systems.

Because of this match I had dozens of people ask me to help them learn CTE.

Why, just yesterday there was a man and his wife who stopped by your booth asking about aiming systems, wasn't there? ;)

John, I want to thank you and Freddie Agnir for taking the time to not only answer my many questions, but to actually demonstrate and explain 90-90, CTE and Pro One, at the table where it can be clearly seen. I have to admit, I was one of the dunces who just didn't understand how these methods could possibly work, and I discounted them in my mind while continuing to on my quest to hit a million balls, even though I was still missing a fair percentage of them.

Between the two of you, I must have taken up over an hour of your valuable time. I now have a much better understanding of how these methods work, and why you might want to learn them even if you "already know how to aim"..

You're welcome. Very glad to have met you two.

i commend both of them for stepping up and playing a match for more than either are comfortable gambling for. it takes heart from both of them and each deserves credit for it.

I can't see anybody who has something better to do than watch grass grow would watch and anybody who would actually drive farther than a block to see it really needs to get a life,, with that said I'm sure a few sad souls will tune in

Look just because you're all butt hurt because John wins every argument you two
have ( Hey at least it's entertaining for the other AZ'ers) doesn't mean you shouldn't enjoy yourself and watch the match. :grin-square:

PS. You don't have to take your computer and hide in the closet so no one sees you watching !!! Everyone knows you'll be watching it's really, OK !

Just Enjoy !!!

Have a great day, and enjoy the match.

PPS. Look at the bright side, if by some outside chance Lou wins it could make your whole day !

It will be interesting to see how many "sad souls" end up watching. I expect it will be a pretty respectable number.

Mama also used to say "to each his own..."

Their going to play, for sure. If somebody doesn't play they forfeit the show
up money $3,000, you think somebody is going to do that. I doubt it.

Really? Lou has hardly any skin in the game.

Lou sat in the corner like a kept girl until one of his friends said raise the bet. Once Lou got permission to try to raise the bet, he spoke up. John was shrewd to keep the betting on his terms. If Lou shows up on Monday, and if his backer still wants to raise the bet after seeing that John actually showed up, John will decide how much gets pushed in the middle. Why? Because things like that don't get determined by kept women.

Which only proves that we nailed it. If John really did want to raise it, he would already know that and only have to happily say "yes". Instead, he comes up with the excuse that he is too busy now. Which takes a lot longer to say than saying yes does. What he really said, is "oh crap, I have to think about this for a while, and I'm too busy to think about it right now, I'll let you know later".

Lou thought about it for months, what's your point. Bet will be finalized at Sandcastle. End of Story.

John has claimed a billion times he is positive he will win, and his reason for asking to bet 20k was to maximize how much he was going to win.

So think this out as if it were you. There is a guy at the pool hall you are positive you can beat, but you two have never managed to make a game in all the years the both of you have barked at each other back and forth. Finally one day when you bark at him to play for x amount on such and such date a few months down the road, and he agrees to it.

But after thinking about it, you decide you want to play for an amount that is twice as much (2x) because you know you are only going to get to play this guy once in your life since you dislike each other, and you want to make it count and win as much as you possibly can off of him the one and only time you are going to ever play.

So the next time you see him you tell him you want to make the bet for 2x, twice the amount you have previously agreed on. He doesn't give you an answer to your offer to play for 2x. So every time you see him for the next few months leading up to your match date, you bark and bark, and beg and plead, and prob and probe, and insult and push and try every which way you can to get him to play for 2x, but he more or less just ignores you and you never get an answer.

Finally after years of barking at him, and after months of pushing for him to up the bet to 2x every time you see him so you can win more money off him in your one and only match, he finally answers you and says "sure, I'll play for 2x."

You mean to tell me you would really say well let me think about it some, I'll still play for x, but for 2x I will have to thing about it. You are full of dump truck loads of bullsh!t if you try to claim that you, or anyone else in the world would really do this.

What you would do is snap jump on that offer and accept it so fast it made his head spin. You wouldn't want to risk him changing his mind after all that. Use some logic dude.

The only reason someone wouldn't snap call it after all that is if they weren't really trying to up the bet, but just trying to get in their opponents head. And when the opponent agreed to the 2x, now you have to think about it to see what you really want to do because you never were very confident about your chances, so you want to wait until match day to see how confident you feel that day, see how well you are hitting the balls that day, see how well your opponent is playing when he warms up and how confident he looks, and then ultimately make a decision about whether you really want to bet more or not.

Pretty simple. If I'm Lou and I know John is at Derby City with a lot of money, I'm playing for the 10 grand right there. Worst case is i get beat and have a guaranteed rematch at sandcastle. I win I'm guaranteed 13,000. No downside to playing at Derby City if I really feel I'm the dead nutz favorite like Lou obviously does.
