Oh I'm sure it will be many , especially since it's free ,,It will be interesting to see how many "sad souls" end up watching. I expect it will be a pretty respectable number.
Mama also used to say "to each his own..."

You just don't get it. You are so blinded by your idolization of a person and are so biased you can no longer see reality. John may decide to bet more on the match day, but it still won't change that I'm right. You see, what John does on match day doesn't in any way change what he is doing now and has already done, and why. John isn't very confident, and contrary to what he claims he was not trying to maximize his winnings when he asked Lou to play for 20k. He was just trying to get in Lou's head, expecting that Lou wouldn't accept the bet, plain and simple. But he got called, and even got an offer for another raise. Oh crap now what, that sure backfired.
If John was confident he would win, and was trying to maximize his winnings, he would have accepted Lou's offer instantly--period--end of story. If John bets more on match day, it is only another attempt to try to get in Lou's head, because he doesn't think he is the favorite in the match without using some moves. His first attempt to high roll Lou and get in his head failed miserably, actually backfired, because Lou surprised him and called it. John knows his last chance to try a move to get in Lou's head and to give himself half of a long shot chance to win is to try it again right before the match. Also try to aggravate Lou by making things difficult and throw him off his game.
That, and John needs the chance to see how well he is playing that day first, and maybe even to see how well Lou is playing first too. He first needs to see if he is feeling confident enough on match day to bet more. Because he damn sure wasn't feeling confident enough when Lou called his bluff on his high roll offer, and he hasn't felt confident enough yet up until this moment either. Or else he would have already confirmed on the bet that HE pushed for. No, make that he would have fallen all over himself jumping to confirm the bet that HE pushed for.
Pretty simple. If I'm Lou and I know John is at Derby City with a lot of money, I'm playing for the 10 grand right there. Worst case is i get beat and have a guaranteed rematch at sandcastle. I win I'm guaranteed 13,000. No downside to playing at Derby City if I really feel I'm the dead nutz favorite like Lou obviously does.
Really? Who is going to watch this? There may be a little initial interest but you'd have to be a masochist of epic proportions to sit through it all.
I'm waiting for the 18 DVD box set to come out, sponsored by JB Cases. I may even get the deluxe edition, with ball by ball commentary by John Barton, all for a bargain price of $199.99.
You definitely have to post up first.
Well your not Lou so speaking on what you would do is meaningless. , I know plenty of high rollers that won't play unless their ready to play , the dumbest thing you can do is jump up and play when your not mentally prepared

But gamblers play when theres easy money to be won.
Neither of these guys are gamblers.
They will be come tuesday.
Gamblers like the action, these 2 queens like the drama. This is a drama showdown with some money involved.
I think this is the pot calling the kettle black.
Every post you make is drama or trying to cause drama.
That's pretty funny. ,, the only time he wins a argument with me is when he tries high roll me with more cash than I can afford ,, he thought that's what he was going to do with Lou until Lou step up with the cash and no surprise he tucked his tail between his legs just like he did with BobbyLook just because you're all butt hurt because John wins every argument you two
have ( Hey at least it's entertaining for the other AZ'ers) doesn't mean you shouldn't enjoy yourself and watch the match. :grin-square:
PS. You don't have to take your computer and hide in the closet so no one sees you watching !!! Everyone knows you'll be watching it's really, OK !
Just Enjoy !!!
Have a great day, and enjoy the match.
PPS. Look at the bright side, if by some outside chance Lou wins it could make your whole day !
I learned from Roadie.
Did John have access to 10k cash to gamble with at DCC? Highly doubt it. Did Lou? Highly doubt it. And even if they both did, with as many games as they have been playing with each other, particularly John, it would have taken 3 weeks of non-stop barking and arguing and maneuvering just to get the game to go off. DCC is long, but not that long. Lou was smart enough to just avoid the hassle that would have gone absolutely nowhere.Pretty simple. You are really over thinking this whole thing. Somebody really got into your head.

They have been negotiating THIS match for years and it isn't even finalized yet. Hell, the only thing left in the air at this point is how much to play for, the easiest part of the whole thing to negotiate. You make an offer, and the other guy says yes or no, and vice versa until one guy says yes to the other guy's offer amount. But it is not easy when someone just wants to play games. It is only easy if both parties are sincere about trying to set up their match, and one person hasn't been sincere about it at all. He has even reneged on his own offers and now just wants to "think about it" and "negotiate right before the match" so he can play more games and try to frustrate Lou and get in his head right before match time.
A match had zero chance of going off on short notice at the DCC. After years John has yet to even commit to a final playing amount in this match and you think he would have made a game and actually played all within a very short period of time at DCC? Laughable.
On a side note, I have an idea how to finally get the amount they are to play for settled and locked down without all the silly games. They both PM a trusted member here such as Jay Helfert the maximum amount they would be willing to play for (each amount must be at least 10k since they already agreed to at least that amount). Both numbers will then be made public, and the match is to be played for the lower of the two numbers. The match is then considered set in stone for that amount and cannot be further negotiated at any time. Come match time, if either player fails to post that *full* bet amount they immediately forfeit their 3k no show money to the other player and it is a done deal.
That will separate who is trying to play games verses who is actually trying to get a match set up. Lou, would you agree to do it this way? John, would you agree to do it this way?
And you are just plain failing to think. At all.
Logic is the teacher.
Really? Lou has hardly any skin in the game.
Lou sat in the corner like a kept girl until one of his friends said raise the bet. Once Lou got permission to try to raise the bet, he spoke up. John was shrewd to keep the betting on his terms. If Lou shows up on Monday, and if his backer still wants to raise the bet after seeing that John actually showed up, John will decide how much gets pushed in the middle. Why? Because things like that don't get determined by kept women.
At least nothing, literally, is in my head.
