Super Billiards Expo Trip Report

Frickin awesome, CreeDo. Thanks for taking the time and making the effort. It IS appreciated!

Great Trip Report

I wasn't there to see everything live, but this report is so good I almost feel like I was there.

I talked to a buddy of mine last night and he told me he finished 9th in the Seniors event. He said there was a bad call in his match that the referee agreed was bad that cost him a chance to even finish higher! When the Ref came over and apologized for making the mistake it was too late to do anything about it since the man that beat my friend had started another match. I told him that 9th wasn't bad in a field of players that large, but he was still bummed about the bad call that cost him his last match.

I'm looking forward to reading some more in this thread. Great job CreeDo.....

With the buzz cut and Army cap, he looks like a cross between
a hasidic jew and someone in System of a Down.

Now that's funny, Nice job Chicken!

Fantastic writing!!!!

I have been to Super Billiard Expo but I think I will by pass DCC and go next year. I mean you made me feel like I was there and with better insight. Great job and I hope to read more writings from you.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I enjoy writing these things cuz it helps me remember
the highlights of my trip. I plan on making it next year, and I think I might just wear a little
nametag that says CreeDo. I knew I would be just inches away from dozens of regular AZ posters,
and pass by them without knowing it. I did manage to spot a couple.

Even though it looks dorky, I hope some of you try the nametag sticker next year.
I'm definitely going to try to attend every year. Wherever they end up holding it.

Haha, this is an awesome report, Creedo. Thanks for it. It was a pleasure to meet you and Perk as well, man. I hope you had a wonderful time (though I can tell you already did!) Had I known you stayed at the Red Roof, too, we could've had several drinks together at some point!

First of all, thanks so much for doing this. It's a way for me to remember a lot of it, too. Looks like it took a lot of work. The post reserving was a brilliant idea, keeping the whole report cohesive rather than being spread over several pages of comments such as this one. And of course, the writing is simply first class. Slightly ironic at times, but without going overboard. Roll over OMGWTF, there's a new sheriff in town.

I was hoping that the name tag thing would come up in a thread prior to the expo. I met a few new AZBers, and every one of them was a delight to chat with. There were a few that I recognized either from pics on AZB or from YT videos, but I am a bit shy about just coming up and grabbing someone's attention that way. Some sort of tag that at least identified me as an AZB member might have been a good way to help break the ice.

Creedo: This is a amazing job you did. You must take notes. Because I cant think of any other way you remember and document these things in so much detail.
I can't remember what happened within minutes of a match.lol

I am a Michigander and have played against, or with, everyone you mentioned from Michigan. There is a reason they are all there.
Matt B's game has come a long way over the last few years. He has a way of spinning the cue off rails,,making it dance ,,on almost every shot.He does it well.
The guy with the purple shirt and gold chain is Kenny Brisbon. Another Michigander.

You have a way of putting this together,,,,,, that is amazing. Great Job!!!

Corey, you were at the bargain bedroom hotel too? Sheeeit.
Maybe next year, we'll all be ballers and try Harold's Deli.
It was good to meet you too, as well as Ben and other AZers.

Sloppy, I'll wear my tag, you do too. Little discreet white sticker.
Though if I can get a big black shirt with white lettering that says "CreeDo"
instead of "VINCE", I may try that.

Flash: thanks very much. I just photograph everything and that helps me remember.
I also cheat and look at brackets, otherwise I'd easily mix up Wednesday Warmup matches
with Amateur and pro-AM matches.

Creedo you sure have a way with words as well as a memory because I am sure you were not sitting with a notebook the whole time. Frankly I did not see you taking many pictures other than when we were messing around with the slo-motion break recordings. This is quite a writeup and its entertaining alot of it with how you spin it. My favorite part was when the four of us were at Harold's Deli for a second, saw the menu/prices, and all got up as someone said "Our accountant just called we got to go" and acted like he was on the phone all the way out.

If I was not there, this sort of writeup would make me want to show up!
