Lou wants more

I've never met you and have nothing against you but after watching you on the stream you are not a good enough player to be gambling that high unless you are extremely wealthy and $10.000 dollars isn't serious cash for you.

Not trying to make you feel bad, just stating the obvious.

Pool gambling is no different than poker, Al....
...you don't need a good hand, just a winning hand.

To set the matter straight: No, you do not have a "good" stroke. It is deficient in most crucial aspects. Specifically, your stance is poor, you steer the ball, you "sweep" the ball trying to get English, your follow through is criminal, you jump up, you rush every short, your transfer from back swing to stroke is jerky, your head is cocked, and that's just for starters. Do we all have issues with our strokes? Yes. Do we run our mouth, play seasoned one holders EVEN for 10k, hire Accustats to film us get trounced and generally look like a yammering novice? No.

Though the logic is perhaps a bit flawed, I hope your devoted but misguided fan base will now brighten up after seeing you are all bark and no bite. Face it - you don't know what you're talking about 90% of the time.

I mean, I'm sure most people figured you were just another annoying personality who could nonetheless play. Now they see you are just annoying (and delusional and attention-starved.) Stick to what you know - making imported cue cases.

What was your screen name before?

It's called gambling and its not about speed,it's how you match up and from what I've seen John has had opportunity to be leading this.

And you KNOW that Canadians are known for their politeness....
...you may have to turn in your passport....:)

Really? I was born in Canada, but don't have a Canadian passport. Phew, that was close - imagine having to be polite all the time?

{shudder}

The match is at 8-6 and JB is in it. As a matter of fact a few rolls and he could be leading here. So who are you to tell him he shouldn't play? He shouldn't play SVB I agree - but a fair game is a fair game. I think they play even. Lou dogged a number of shots and the expression of his face certainly changed when John made is 6-5.

I guarantee Lou and his backers didn't expect JB to be in this like he is.

Win or lose tonight John stood up and did what he said - the rest doesn't matter. It is just money and you can make it every day.

If everyone in the world did what others thought they were supposed to do this would be a boring ride!

No idea, I just heard about it from the commentators. They mentioned it a few times and then later on said that John got a lot better when the guy got kicked out after the second game. Some people talked about it on here last night, but they just identified the guy - no comment on what was said or what the back story was that would make this guy want to start that kind of crap. As I understand it, he's providing a piece of Lou's 10k and he's doing it because he has some kind of beef with Barton.

That's pretty weak if true. John is at best a C player, has a terrible stroke and Lou had to bring some guys along to shark the guy?

Bad action.

Well said. This place would be a much better place if more people adopted this posture. Thank you sir.

what is the criteria or formula for skill level vs wealth vs betting limits as it relates to gambling?

I can't run too well (as in running with my feet). but maybe I want to challenge myself to see if I can get across the street and back before the other guy can.

and if I want to bet $10g on it, then, I will.

if the other guy thinks he can go across and back a little faster than me, and he has $10g's worth of confidence, then we got action.

If we feel like doing it, why shouldn't we?

we can have different criterias. or is it criterium? or is the plural still criteria?

best,
brian kc

Stream was hovering around 750 viewers when I checked - this match has me interested in learning one pocket and I will be purchasing a custom case from JB as well :)

Support those that support the game I say.

I'm not sure what Eric's or Mike's presence has to do with anything. Especially since you had Eric removed before the match even started.

But I do have a question... I'm being told by someone in attendance that you were being coached from the rail during the entire match by a VERY strong 1 pocket player. Is this true?

I didn't have him removed before the match started. He put a chair directly in line with me and set up a camera. I let him get to me and made the decision that he had not earned the right to be present at my match.

I was being calmed by the guy I have been taking lessons from. He would say the same things any corner man would say. Like get this money John, work it out John, don't leave nothing John..... Nothing prevents me from having a corner man and he will be there today.

If he was telling me what to shoot it didn't work too well because Lou won two games AFTER he got there. No matter what I still have to be the one to shoot and I came with some great shots to stay in this match.

As for Mike's presence, we got into a little barking mid match after I nailed a CTE aimed bank and said that this is why we are here. I just let myself be bothered by him but I survived to fight another day.

It is a race to three now. As Lou already knows I can win a short race against a better player. So we will see what happens.

Agreed 100%. Skill level should have nothing to do with betting and limits to that betting. As long as the two people have the money, agree to the game, play about the same (or come up with a fair handicap to level the playing field), it shouldn't really matter what they play for.

I can see how some might object to streaming matches between two B players but that decision was made based on the profiles of the two players in question. Frankly, streaming this match was a no-brainer. Jon and Lou have both made a lot of enemies which means this match will get a LOT of interest and viewers.

I was thinking the same thing. I kind of want to learn one pocket now. I already have a JB case on order too.

This whole thing has been fun for someone on the outside like me.

Are you a banned member? I think we know you.

In any event even with all those deficiencies I am within three games of beating the seasoned one hole player. Imagine the trouble he is in if I fix them between now and 4pm?

Stranger things have happened.
