Don't Want Anyone To Know They Play BB

Many on here say league players don't watch pros play...even on a BB. A lot of members on here say they hate the BB, calling them toys for kids and bangers. If no one plays on them and no one watches them, can someone tell me why they are out selling 9' tables by a large amount? Why is there over 1000 viewers on the stream watching BB? Why are there 200-300 PPV buyers paying to watch BB pool. Me thinks there are many on here that own or play on BB's and just won't admit it. Johnnyt
i thought this was a thread about Bonus Ball.... It could be ya know

To all those that think bar boxes are just toys, are just too easy, almost impossible to miss, ect., just wondering when the last time was that you ran a seven pack on one??

I played my first real tourney on a little table and literally did not miss a ball I tried o make for a whole day.

Bar tables are far easier than 9'ers. Please don't tell me you would argue otherwise.\m/

IMHO, I don't feel bb are too easy..but I do believe they increase the luck factor in terms of who wins a game.

On bb, I have beaten players who were way better than me that I had no right beating. And vice-versa, players who just weren't very good...beating me.

Only recently started playing on the boxes, and no I haven't run a 7 pack on one yet. However my chances of running packages are much higher on a box than on a 9 footer. I'm starting to enjoy and gain some respect for the boxes, but I still insist that I can be beaten by a lesser skilled player on a box, while on a 9 footer..........the better player wins every time.
Not saying I could beat the likes of Shane on a box, but if my life depended on it, I would choose the box.........as it is in my mind still the ultimate equalizer. That being said, what I like about the box is that it's equally as easy for my opponent to get out, even if he/is a lesser player, so knowing I've only got one chance at each rack is what makes it all very exciting for me.

Put it this way, a 7' Valley can be quite easy. I have seen balls hit the rail one diamond from the side and still go in the corner. Most will take a ball that misses by a diamond or a little more.

However, a good Diamond 7' will not take missed balls anymore than a 9' will. That equates to you have to be accurate. No one feels a 5' shot on a diamond barbox is tough. Yet, you put the exact same shot on a 9', and you will be surprised how many amateurs will sweat it. Now, on a 9', you do have a reach problem to contend with when playing position. Other than that, the shots are just shots. A 9' is all about knowing how to play position correctly. Pockets are the same size.

Yes, the 9' is more difficult overall. But far too many have a mental problem playing on one. They have always heard they are so tough compared to a barbox, that when they get on one every shot, no matter how easy or routine, is tough to them. If you can play runnout pool on a barbox, you won't have much more difficulty on a 9'.

You are a good player, you know, like I do, exactly what the differences are, and they are different position moves,(due to reach) and mental. I just get tired of so many amateurs saying barboxes are so easy when they can't even string a few racks together on one.

Are you calling Barbox pool the fat girl of the pool world? Fun to play with but not something you wanna brag about?? Barbox pool just like fat girls make you feel like you're a fn champ.

I don't care what anyone says Barbox pool is fun as hell. There's a lot of skill involved and anyone doing it well knows that. Anyone that denies that isn't and hasn't seen it done right.

They outsell 9 footers because they're cheaper and fit easier, and there are easily
10 times more bars than pool halls.

The PPV is selling well because it's top pros playing for good money.
It'd sell just the same if they had an identical tournament, except on 9 footers.

Not knocking barbox, I came to appreciate it a little more at SBE.
But let's be realistic, 1,000 viewers out of 50,000,000 pool players isn't enough to show much.

I prefer 10 footers but play in 2 leagues on boxes.

I do really enjoy BB 9 ball though because I run out considerably more than on the 10 footer, naturally.
