The Ballad of John and Lou, Part One

And so says someone who thinks "NY" is "NYC." Big difference between the two, pal. NYC may have the strictest firearms restrictions in the country, but that doesn't speak for the rest of NY State (nor to those of us vehemently against the S.A.F.E. act).

You won't find very many "upstaters" wanting to get into peoples' faces up here. We all carry. ;) Or, we pick you off from a distance Adirondacks-style.

-Sean

Well, I'm a New Yorker from the Adirondacks and I gotta say you're right on the money. Gun stores everywhere, and rednecks packin' concealed while they got backup pump-action 12-gauges hanging from gun racks in their pickups. Badass gangstas from NYC would have a brown stain a yard long in their skivvies if they took a wrong turn on a dirt road and ended up in Allentown just 5 miles away from me. They don't take kindly to strangers in Allentown.

Besides, weren't they were playing in Edison, New Jersey?

Only time when two grown men get in a fight is when they are drunk.

The altercation must have been so funny between JB and this other guy.

Just a lot of theatrics in this match. Poor Lou.

Rich Lou.

Here's a little advice to those that are in trouble at a pool room. If trouble occurs here are the steps to follow:

1.) Take off your shoes and your socks.

2.) Grab a pool ball. Any number, color, solids or stripes of your choice.

3.) Insert the pool ball in the sock.

This will make a good weapon. You can swing it at the aggressor.

Lou - did i miss Part 2? or are Eric & JB's posts part of its promo?

hmmmm, I guess they would fall into the category of promos.

As to Part Two, like I usually do I let something I've written sit overnight to marinate. Actually, so I can take a fresh look at it for editing and usually, since I have a tendency to go a little overboard my first draft, remove some of the more incendiary stuff. I also have the feeling that vBulletin is going to kick Part Two back because it's kinda long, then I'll have to edit it down some more. Let me go take a peek.

Teaser....

Come on Lou... You have a (self imposed) deadline to meet....!

Lou,

There are hoards of people waiting for their free story. Please get your act together and post it. :yeah:

No one should say that what they saw during our match is truly representative of John's play. I can guarantee you it was not representative of mine ;-)

Lou Figueroa

I think I have played more pool with Lou and any other person.

Since Lou said it, I feel like I can. Overall, Lou plays significantly better than he did during the match.

There are portions of Lou's game (like many other amateur players) that are more vulnerable to changes in equipment, conditions, and circumstances.

Pros are used to changing tables, locations, stakes, etc. Lou is not, and his game suffers for it. Mine does to. Many of us would suffer in the same way if we significantly changed the conditions we are used to, even if those conditions were negotiated.

There were a number of shots that Lou hit poorly in the match that he would have executed successfully in conditions that he is more used to. That is the truth. This might well be the same for John. I have only seen him play twice. And both times I think he was under conditions that were fairly foreign to him.

First of all, congrats to Lou on winning the match. Great shooting and way to remain composed and classy thru out the entire time.

To John, like many others have said, if you correct some of those fundamental issues and stay down on your shot, I think you would have played much better. You did come with some very nice banks, especially the one that won the game where your last ball was about half a diamond away from Lou's pocket. And lastly, huge props for still coming on here and posting. Takes a real man to admit defeat, shake hands like you did and move on.

You know what? I always shake my head when I read delusional stuff like this. I think you watch too many action movies.

So, how many ppl have you really seen get shot over a confrontation? "Many"?? I have my doubts.

Here's some reality for ya. Carrying a weapon comes with a lot of responsibility. Most ppl that carry, don't have a decent level of training. If/when a situation comes up, everyone defaults to their level of training readiness. When do you draw your weapon? When do you shoot? Do you shoot someone execution style from a nice comfy 30 feet away and risk being charged with murder? Do you wait until the person is, as you put it, "in your face" to draw your weapon? At that distance (point blank), what happens if it turns into a struggle for your weapon and you are grappling with a perosn that is physically superior and better trained? Do you feel confident that you will retain your weapon and not have it turned on you??

So, being that your level of training is prolly from your last fight in 8th grade, I would stop posting ridiculous stuff, from a safe distance. You've never been in harms way.

Eric

Says a lot of people from NY. They think they can get into someone's face without consequence. Seen to many people get shot for trying to get in people's faces. Especially in a pool room.

Good thing there were a lot of witnesses and nothing escalated. Just a lot of pretending and wanna-be's.

Here's a little advice to those that are in trouble at a pool room. If trouble occurs here are the steps to follow:

1.) Take off your shoes and your socks.

2.) Grab a pool ball. Any number, color, solids or stripes of your choice.

We had a local player go on full tilt and actually do this...he is now down doing some serious time for attempted murder. Not recommended.

John,

What astounds me the most about you is that you still haven't learned one of lifes most important lessons; "What goes around, comes around". Some call it karma, some call it the Golden Rule.

You still bring up ppl's personal and work lives, like its an available tool for you to screw ppl over with. Thats pretty despicable. I remember how you called the local town government on Jack Justis, trying to screw his business over by telling them to investigate JJ for running a business out of his home. Now, we all know that JJ runs a hobby out of his home, so there is no real business and nothing to see. The thing is, that is extremely low for a human being to do that to another, over what? Cuz you felt disrespected online??

Speaking of using governemnt and regualtory bodies, what was your involvement, in 2010, with reporting me to the SEC? By the way, I'm still in business, so apparently honesty and running a clean shop has merits.

I've been on Pool forums for over 15 years. For that matter, in all of Pool, not just the forums, I've gone to the extreme of coming to blows or nearly, with exactly two people; you, John Barton and Fast Larry. When I reflect on why, I see many, many similarities you two share. Many despicable personality traits. The worst trait is that you both feel that if you are slighted, then you can use any means and any lowness to hurt the other person. You both know no boundaries that decent ppl respect. Nothing is too low, if you feel someone rubbed you wrong.

This all goes back to "karma". You, John Barton, put so much bad stuff onto other ppl that if you turned up dead on a Monday, I would not be the only suspect. The list is long, John. I don't have to do it myself, I just need to be patient and let someone else do it. You put so much bad stuff out there, I'm sure you have to look over your shoulder everytime you are out and about. Think I'm wrong? Here's a quick example. You got into an online tiff with Mike Lalumiere. You, JB, got so incensed that you tried to find some extreme, over the top ways to screw with him including finding and harassing his elderly mother, to get at Mike. That is scumbag behavior. You know what?? You forgot about Mike, but he didnt forget about you!! Lou's surprise backer was Mike. Totally took you by surprise. Luckily for you, he only took you for $10k and not done something worse to you.

Take this and look inward, John. It's honest because I despise you and am not gonna sugar coat it, to spare your feelings. You can tell me to F off or you can take this valuable feedback and use it.

Eric

Of course I remember. Still I thought a man of your claimed position, investment banker, money manager, Wall Street tycoon, would have more restraint than to walk over and threaten me with a pool ball in your hand.

I wonder if your clients know this gangster side of you? Do you make it a point to tell them you beat up people on weekends for a hobby?

Do they know you will go the distance for them if they get shafted by a contractor? That you will take your sack of pool balls and get that money? That is the kind of guy I want protecting my money if I ever have enough to be worthwhile to a major played like you.

You're a scary dude. I would give you one tiny piece of advice for your future fights. When you threaten someone with a weapon you probably don't want to turn your back on them in close proximity as you did with me to remove your glasses.

Because you see if a person is serious about hurting you they won't wait for the fight to politely start or care about your glasses.

No Eric a truly crazy person would probably have knocked your ass out with a pool ball and then ground shards of your glasses into your eyes until your sockets were full of pulp.

Luckily for you I am not that crazy. Just stupid enough to have thought you had more sense than you actually do.

I never match up right. :-(

Well I guess I will bump the life insurance so Karen and the kids are taken care of. And I will make it a habit to write "Eric Hu did it" on my body so the cops will know where to go first.

Very funny, Danny! :D

That's right -- and the laws in NJ have very strict guidelines in how firearms (even long guns) can be transported across state lines:

http://www.state.nj.us/njsp/about/fire_trans.html

Also, note that all non-NJ carrier permits are invalid in the state of NJ -- one must have a NJ carrier permit to carry while in NJ.

So all this talk about "glock" and "carrying" and etc. from non-NJ natives while in a NJ pool room is just bluster.
