To make the determination, for once and for all...until the question arises again.

Which end of a pool table is the head, which end is the foot?!

Break from the head, rack at the foot.

No poll needed, that's just the way it is.

So if you break from what was the foot, does it become the head?

:)

I've seen people do that on tables where the racking area was so badly worn they couldn't get the balls to rack properly. So they reversed the table.
So in that case you are correct.

Foot is the side the rack goes on. You break from the head table and send the cueball down table.

Head string so head of table break side.

Table

Basically the only tables with ball returns require you to establish head from foot, other than that, The foot rail has score counters on the rail and the head rail has a name plate or stamp. You'll see home style tables have "end rail" marked on the bottom side of both end rails....
Mostly the rail location depends on the table and if it's a commercial table or not.

have not read the replies......:embarrassed2:
YOU BREAK FROM THE HEAD OF THE TABLE AND YOU RACK AT THE FOOT END
hope this helps......:)

So where is the poop deck?

Well there was that one guy who pi$$ed in the pocket during league so I guess that would would be the logical choice?

Don't know whether that was the head or the foot but I'd rather someone pi$$ in the head than on my foot.

The poop deck is that which overhangs the stern. I have a ball return on my GC. Ergo, the section of the table that the balls "poop" out of is the stern or foot.

Of course a viable argument can be made that the balls in fact are regurgitating, therefore, that side would be the head. So what do you think of that!
