I think Scott's on the wrong track if he thinks he can bet more than Shane. If we are talking about each of them personally with no backers and based on their pool earnings I'd say Shane probably has the bigger bankroll. Of course Scott might have taken off some huge scores we don't know about.
Lot's of scores don't get reported on this site. Like one a few months ago where xxx- went to x-city and took off yyy for 40k. It happened and it's known but the people who know about it didn't feel like reporting it on here.
If it's a battle of millionaires betting then well, John Mars reportedly has pretty deep pockets and if he can't handle all the action I am sure Shane has a roster of backers willing to invest in just about any match he wants to play. So betting 10k that you can post more money seems like a foolish boast on Scott's part either way.
I do like Shane's answer that they broke even at 8/7 after 33 hours and therefore there is no reason to change the game. That seems like it was gambling to me and the smart play is not to change the game until there is a winner. 33 hours pretty much gives you plenty of time to figure out if the game is right.
I wish I had that discipline - I beat a guy five games and am adjusting the spot in his favor.
