if you could play like a pro?

Thorsten. If I had half of that guy's mental game, I'd play 3 balls better. Perhaps after the week, I'd remember some of the mindset and retain enough to improve a bit.

Just came to my head while I was in the pool hall practicing today lol, if say for one week or few days, you can have the skills of one professional pool player today retired or currently playing who would it be.

Just the pool skills and pure talent, who would it be and what would you do for that one week?

Just one player!!

My pick would be Efren ... took me a good 15 minutes between him and earl but id go with Efren.

Efren.

For one week I would go to the hottest action spot in the country and bust everyone who wanted to play.

The action would probably dry up after day one though.

No kidding.
Efren's one pocket game in the mid 90's was unreal.
He probably would have easily spotted any one-hole great a ball or two then.
We know he busted the Professor.
Spotted Bugs and busted him after two days or so.

For me, it would HAVE to start with Mr. Mosconi. Champion in all disciplines. And a hellova nice guy unless your name was Wanderone! Just sayin

Mosconi... no questions asked.

How is this even questionable....

Because he had no style (compared to the likes of efren or keith). He was a machine, absolutely brilliant player, but always seemed detached to me... not really exciting. No disrespect intended, as he was one of the greatest players on earth. I guess it's a personal thing, so there's no wrong answer.

It's Efren or Ronnie Allen for me. EDIT: Maybe I'd pick Shane instead... I hear he shoot's pretty good ;)

Efren would have wiped the floor with Mosconi. Willie was of course the greatest straight pool player of his era but he was IN MY OPINION not much of an all-around-player. Efren in my opinion would have won his share of 14.1 matches against Willie but I doubt Willie would have won many one pocket matches against Efren. 8 Ball and rotation games forget about it.

Flame retardant suit on. :-)

I think Mosconi would have Efren in Straight Pool, but nothing else. I hope this thread can stay on topic though, it's a good question. I will probably change my mind at least once LOL! And John, watch those retardant comments ;)

Good choices..no doubt I knew people would say mosconi, thats why I said currently playing or retired, so I guess someone who's still alive.

I always keep changing my mind, it would suck to loose the ability after a week!!
Looks like il just have to practice hard enough to be somewhat pro like..:(

I need glasses. Missed that part. Mr. Efren is my choice now. Can't deny the all-around talent.

I wish there was as much gambling now as in the 80s and 90s!

It would be a toss up between Deuel or McCready.

I definitely know I wouldn't act like Earl. 😜

If I had to give the skills up, I'd respond to Scott Frost's $10,000 challenge or find some similar offer,
make the other guy give up a ball or three because I'm unknown,
and then torture them with Efren's Skills.

If I didn't care about money, I'd love to have Corey's skills and knowledge.
He's sort of a more orthodox version of efren. Can I keep the knowledge
even if I lose the stroke??

A mirror?

Willie or Earl

I would have to take Mosconi in his prime. I doubt anyone was better....ever. I mean as the legend goes didn't his record run of 14.1 end because he was bored?

But because I can't read when I post on here, I'll take Earl
