I like the push button butt extension also. I use to buy up the sks's at flea markets and convert them with Tapco stocks and mags. I use to get them for 50.00. I can get 550 for one with the Tapco stock and matching mags now, but they will cost you 300 or more now with the original stock.

Thanks Chris and Jaden. I was watching a UTube video. The guy was going to prove that even with a smaller 22 LR pistol, that it was both accurate and powerful.

I believe that at 30 feet, the bullet was still going thru 1" ply wood.

So the Sig 9mm compact would still be quite accurate.

At 30' a 22LR shell will punch thru a lot more than that, maybe 2-3" of plywood.

It was slightly ambiguous before because if you were in a truck cab it was impossible to store them separately.

I think it used to be that they had to be kept separately but they changed that to what you read to get rid of the ambiguity of it.

Jaden

Just to clarify Jaden. The gun must still be in a locked compartment (trunk or ?), but kept unloaded. You cannot have an unloaded gun and ammo in the interior of your car in Cali. Now you could have an unloaded gun with the ammo in the trunk. Or you could have the gun and ammo in a locked gun case in the interior of your car. A lot of variations in the way this law is written. Interesting huh?

not in NC, unless something's changed in the laws - to which, i don't care. if the gun is legal & clean @ point of sale, whether hand-written/signed or notarized, individuals can sell amongst themselves. moreover, it's the criminals, who can lay their hands on underground guns & don't care about CWP - while we have to jump through the hoops.

mine were Court decreed (inherited), which according to ATF, is higher than being registered AND not required to be registered.

years ago, when NC finally approved it, i wanted to apply for CWP. then i found out that it's PUBLIC RECORD & printed in the NEWSPAPER, of "who applied & their address"....ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! that just screamed (as a single mother w/ a 2yr old) - COME ATTEMPT TO ROB ME.

i called my atty friend of 20 yrs. he said:
1) it only matters if you get caught
2) it's a $500 fine for concealed
3) assuming they survive to testify against you

that's all i needed to hear. that's my story, and i'm sticking to it!

PS - always finish the job.

NC makes no distinction between sales from stores or individuals (NC citizens) - you must either have a license to purchase (obtained from Sheriff's department, usually $5 per license) and give that up at the time of purchase or have a concealed carry permit and show that at time of purchase. So no - individuals cannot simply sell amongst themselves without doing what I just described......if you do it is clearly breaking the law and it has been that way for years.

Hey Brown...don't show your ignorance....I haven't just stopped by to chime in....or as you said "popped in".....OMG, what a total dunce you are.

Matt B.

p.s. My initial post, and many gun photos I might add, is on page 4 (Post #49) less than 8 hrs after the original thread started....and many more since...DUH!

It was my understanding before that even a truck cab needed to have the ammo or the firearm locked in the glove box...

Yeah it is interesting, ridiculous, but interesting. during the riots in the 90's my dad was working in Seal beach and he carried his loaded in his car, he wasn't taking any chances.

I saw all of your weapons and I never said you stopped by to pop in. Ive read every post you have made in this thread. Sorry you didnt read my post and took it the way that you wanted to. I liked all of your pistols by the way. I dont want to put any negativity in this thread.....so I hope you have a great night and enjoy looking at all of the great pics.

Could somebody who really knows handguns answer this for Terry? My experience is the shorter the barrel, the more skilled a shooter has to be. I was amazed with a female cop was next to me at the range. She had a hammerless short barreled .38 and was killing the 50 ft target. I doubt I could hit it at all.

The shorter a sight radius is....the more the accuracy potential suffers. So the same gun with the same caliber firing the same ammunition, one with a 2.5" barrel has less accuracy potential as the one with a 5.25" barrel.

When you place your folding sights on your AR-type rifle (with a barrel-length Picatinny rail)...always put the sights as far apart as you possibly can.

Think of it like this: Two sights 4" apart are going to react to movement (side-to-side or up-and-down) more radically than if the sights were 16" apart.

Nice rifle Clocked. Whats that rod under the barrel for. Is that a vaporizer? Cause judging from the diameter of that barrel, it looks like a potential vaporizer.

I believe that it is a muzzleloader. I could however be wrong.

You are not wrong. It's a very accurate muzzleloader that handles like a custom rifle. I also fired this with a nice muzzleloader:

My wife has a .22 semi auto Browning Challenger. They have a long barrel and it's a kick to fire at the range. It's damn accurate. It's also cheap to shoot. The .22 long is not a self-defense round of choice because they may penetrate but don't cause massive tissue trauma like other rounds. Trauma is what maims and kills.

You will probably get tired of it pretty quickly and yearn for a 9mm - that's my prediction. A 9mm is almost the perfect round in my opinion. They are relatively cheap, accurate, compact, powerful and have very manageable recoil. There are a lot of quality 9mm's out there. It does take practice and skill to getting accurate with one.

This is what I am talking about.

Post guns with your cues.

I can see that your cues and guns look like each other.

Come on you must have one stinkin' gun. Post it with your Thomas Wayne collection.

Allen, it probably was on the 5x10s some 20 years or so ago. Not anymore. I've only played on 6x12 tables a couple of times in my life and for only a very few racks.

Here are some experimental conical bullets made by a fellow named John Mosely from Georgia. I had the honor of being the first to test them and these are the first three shots.
You might notice this was over 10 years ago. Doubt I could duplicate that these days. Aging sucks.

maniac answered it best. Barrel length has more to do with bullet velocity and little to do with accuracy.

Just food for thought...the biggest knock on the 22 rim fire round is that you will have a higher amount of misfires due to the rim fire design. Other than fun plinkers or trainer guns, you should stick with a center fire round. Especially if this is gonna be an "I'm not gonna be a victim" gun.

"This is one of the most civilized threads that has went on for this long and you want to get rid of it? Dont pop in and read it."......That's what you wrote?

When the topic of guns reaches such ridiculously high number of posts in such a short time, and despite that this is the Main Forum, it is still nonetheless AZ....which stands for billiards & pool.

At some point...now or later.........however I submit now because this is bordering on excessive in scope, regardless of any and all civility being expressed or not expressed, the sponsor is still Az which doesn't relate with gun ownership or gun control or 2nd amendment issues......it's supposed to "correlate" with pool and look at these posts.......Yeah....Sure......this has become a miniature gun forum that's lost its relativity with owning cues......Come on, don't get defensive on me......read the vast plurality, majority, whatever......but guns has become the theme.

Mr. Wilson, I respectfully submit this thread has reached its saturation point and needs to start sinking.....IMO.
