If an unknown back said he would cover you for a $100k set, would you play?

If you were in a "barking match" with a player that was roughly your speed, and out of left field he says "let's play for $100k", and your phone rings, and on the other end you hear, "I will back you for the 100, 60/40 split"...

do you take the game?

No. Some people you don't want in your life. I would change my number, possibly move to another city.

I don't want to associate with anyone that would gamble that much on my game. Crazy people can be dangerous.

Depends on the guy barking and if I think I have a chance of winning. I dont want to lose a strangers money even if it has no reprecussions on me.

Anybody that would wager that much on my game isn't right in the head...don't want nothing to do with that deal.

Hell no! Like a few others have said, anyone willing to stake that much on my game needs help. Just sayin'

Once....ok maybe twice.

I was playing a guy banks and he said, there isn't anyone on the planet that I wouldn't gamble with if I only had to make 3 balls to their 5 playing short rack banks.

I would turn the match down on the simple principal that I felt led to quit gambling on pool over 30 years ago. I still play tournaments occasionally, but I would not match up with someone gambling, even if I knew it was a lock for me to win.

You can't get involved with that kind of dough, or even $10k, without it being someone you know or someone you can vet through someone you know. Too many bad things can happen.

Lou,
What if it were someone that you DO know, and did have trust/faith in (knowing that $100k to them is not a big deal, and that your overall well being was in no way in jeopardy).
For instance, if your Great Uncle was a Multi-millionaire, and just wanted to get involved for the love of gambling... would you still avoid that game, or consider it?
