John Schmidt....What kind of one hole purse will get Scott frost, Ike Runnels
SVB, yourself, Danny smith and the other big dogs to play and settle this at mile high Billiards?

I want to get a $30k invite only tournament going!

Colorado is one of the best places in the world!!!!

Not my money Sir, Greg at MHB has the money lined up or at least a chunk of it. He has been working on doing something like this for a while. Oh, also I don't think its a $5k entry lol.

Sounds good because a new trend now seems to have 15 players put up $2000.00 each. I am glad it is not something like that. Please try to line up some kind of Streaming. Good luck to your friend.

I am not 100% sure on the entry fee but I am sure there will be one. If you have 16 lets say of the best one snatch players around $500 maybe a good entry to bump the $$ up. Not my call though. I hope this works out for him.

Whats wrong with a big entry fee? People wanna see big money action not big money charitable contribution.

If you wanna see the best players the entry fee must be substantial. Other words, one that only the very top players would consider.

Mr. Bond since this is Colorado the something you smell cookin may just be something burning and it doesn't have to be in the kitchen:wink:

All joking aside I think there is plenty of support for pool along the front range. The 9ftrs at Mile High are tight Diamonds and the rest are Diamond bar boxes and plenty of them.
I think this could work but it will be a haul for players on the coasts.

Because they don't need a promoter at all to do that, nor do they need anybody to watch. They can get together and match up anytime they want. Putting up large sums of money pretending they are entry fees is just gambling. If they do that then every penny that is generated by either streaming or admissions as a result of their skills should be added to the pot, it should be done none profit with all moneys going to the players.

Few of the players would actually be putting up the money they all need backers. So in the end they are back where they started, do all the playing, end up with almost nothing.

It isn't Gambling cause the amount is bigger. It's a tournament. It's just better players. Who doesn't like that?

That's why these events have always just been happening all by themselves. Cause they don't need a promoter. I guess you think every product just happens to get sold without salesman too. After all we don't need them right? Action just happens too. We also don't need anyone to get 2 people together. They can just do it themselves.

Bottom line is. With people promoting, with salesman selling...... bigger and better things will always be happening.

Some will enjoy it. Some will knock it. I bet more enjoy it though. I know I do.

I think most of the prize money will come from the sales of coffee to keep the crowd awake.
I hate one pocket
But on a positive note the 6x12 snooker table is up and running. It's huge.
I shot a dozen or so shots on it.I have never played on a table that big and 11 foot shots are awesome
But I do wish him all the success if he can make this happen.
And the 9 foot diamonds are very tough and tight.
The only negative note to Greg's room is the music is way too loud.

I totally agree, in fact I believe there are 1pkt players out there as good or better than these big name players. Combine a big entry fee, with a big added and an open entry and I think the winner could easily be someone no one ever heard of before.

I'd enjoy that better than an invitation only tournament.

If this happens, the winner will definitely be someone well known in the pool world.

I must ask, If you 'hate' one pocket and can't stand loud music, why would you even go in a pool room ?..Are you one of the 3 or 4 (ugh) 9ball addicts, left in the world ?..One pocket happens to be the best game played on a pool table, if you enjoy smart gambling...Ask any top player, except maybe Archer, Dechaine, or CJ...(they prefer the 'paint by numbers' games too) ;)

The speaker is right behind the table we sit at for league and we can barely hear each other.
And one pocket still sucks.
