Bad position error on 9 by Ko that he could not pot in centre pocket. He cuts down the rail and misses corner pocket. Shane comes to table to clean up so he now leads 4-2

Shane breaks dry and Ko runs out. Shane 4-3 and Ko is breaking
Ko is breaking better than Shane
Also mentally Ko is tougher- he puts that bad position error out of his mind and runs out.
IMHO, Shane just has to hold his break and since he won the lag he should win this race to 9. Now if it was longer race like race to 21, Shane will be in trouble :D

LOL IMHO Ko will have the edge. Especially if it is played now after that loss by Shane other day. It plays in Shane's mind. Little that separate their technical skills, in a long race it is the mental/psychological aspect that will makes the difference and Ko has the psychological advantage now. Look at the body language of both of them and you can see Ko has the advantage :thumbup:
 
OMG Shane miss easy 7 and Ko cleans up
Ko steals Shane's break so now Ko leads 5-4 and he is now breaking :D
 
The irony is even if Ko wins this match he will likely still be eliminated. He can only go thru to KO stage if Kiamco loses in other match. If Kiamco wins he has to beat Shane 9-4 which means he has to win remaining racks. Tough

Kiamco is playing Thorsten? I would say Toasty is a slight favorite in that match as long as he puts effort into it without much on the line (a big problem in this format). Either Toasty shoots crappy due to not much being on the line or he shoots the lights out with no pressure and nothing to lose or win.

This format is fairly crappy with the 3-way tie forming up as it might. They should have done a double elimination bracket like the worlds with the winner on the A-Side going to an A-side of the final bracket and the winner of the B-Side of the group going to the B-Side/one loss side of the final bracket.

You get 8 people in the final bracket, but the guys who lost one match retain that loss and the people who won two straight start on the A-Side.

Shane steals back his break and now 5-5 and Shane is breaking
It is race to 4. Even if Ko wins this match, only way now he can go thru to semis is if Kiamco loses other match.

Obviously IF he beats Shane that means he should've played better in the matches that he lost.

This group stage format is common is many sports like soccer except that usually 50% of the players go to KO stage so in this case it should be top 2 out of 4 go thru instead of top 1 out of 4 . They should have quarterfinals so 8 instead of 4 players play which means another 4 matches and maybe they will have 31 matches total instead of 27 matches meaning they can charge extra 15% so the package for this whole tourney can be $45 instead of $40. Just saying would prefer they keep it at $40 even if they increase number of matches LOL
