I only went into the store for a couple minutes when I got back my 4 spear point ebony Joss player and my break cue and vintage 2x2 instroke case was gone. It happened in a strip mall and will know in a couple days if there cameras were working. I filed a police report but were not very encouraging. This really makes me sick.xxxxxxxx.
I have an other player but now I have to find an affordable break cue. I am retired and fixed income does not allow for spending very many $$$

Sorry to hear this but your insurance should cover this. Had a similar incident happen 10 years ago. Sorry for your loss

Word of advice, put the word out to the pool halls, bars with pool leagues and pawn shops within a 50 mile radius. Its a longshot, but you might get lucky.

Insurance will not pay I carry 1k deductable. going to check the pawn shops today.

Sorry to hear that. My cue is in my car most days too. One time years ago I did get my car broken into. However, I got very lucky -- they obviously were looking for quick cash -- they cleaned out my change tray and rifled the glove box, but my cue case was still lying there on the floor. Presumably drug users just looking to get a quick fix. I still have the cue.

When In the car, my cues stay in the trunk. Most thieves won't bother breaking into a car if they can't see a target. Out of sight...out of mind. I know how I would feel if mine were stolen. I spent more time with them then I did the wife!

Talk to your agent and find out for sure. I had the same thing happen and it was covered by my home owners policy. There was no deductible on vandalism and theft they paid 100%.

Also your cue case should always be out of sight. You and I know what is in the case but to the average goof it looks like a gun case. Even if they were not out casing cars to break into the attraction of stealing a gun will have then busting out your windows for sure.

Also, a very effective tool, is to put pictures of your cue on a flyer or? and put em in the men's and the womens' bathrooms, especially the Womens, they talk Allot amongst themselves.

My cue is under a blanket on the back seat. Also under the blanket is three #4 Newhouse wolf traps, all set to catch greedy little fingers. Under both sides of the front seat is a set # 2. That's not a good place to reach into either. They'll still be there when I'm done shopping.

I like the way you think!

I like the way you think! If somebody finds one of your traps and lawyers up you will be on a street corner with a will work for food sign but it would be almost worth it. I've considered hooking up a little 110 at my business when I was robbed seven times in two months or over twenty times in a year. It gets awful tempting to set a bear trap or two.

That's a tough one, sorry to hear about that.

People that steal suck.

I hope the karma train runs them over.

Hu, there was a pot lot car shop in town that had a similar situation, but they one night laid low and slept and waited for the thieves on premises, ended in in a gun battle, and owner won but lost legally because he ambushed and shot em, premeditated is how it played out. Biz closed.

I prefer to carry a gun, and if anybody gets near my cues I just shoot-em in the face.
The wolf trap system is way too much for me to remember, I would **** that up for sure.
The key is to triangulate, keeping your friends close, and your cues closer.

IF you have pictures... post them on AZB, in this post & you'll have a big family watching out for those cues, in nothing flat.

We'd be glad to help you look.

It's the comprehensive that this falls under. Most comp deductibles aren't that high. If it is this is a good time for everyone reading this to check their policies. Comp covers a ton of stuff and is dirt cheap even with a zero or 50 deductible. Even if you don't carry collision insurance because your car is paid of and an old POS you should always carry comprehensive with your liability.

Sad to hear...but I'm thinking it won't happen to you again. We learn quickly about these things. Never leave anything that looks like it can be pawned visible in your car.
The only thing a thief would see looking in my car is the blinking alarm light...I also take my cue with me when I go into a restaurant, stuff like that.

(edit) I also have a cheap cue and a cheap 1x1 case I use when playing in seedy places.

Personal property is not covered under auto policies if unrelated to the vehicle. Thus, aftermarket wheels, stereos, etc would be covered if they were installed on the car at the time.

But personal property like cues, golf clubs, softball equip, laptops, even purses and xmas presents are NOT covered. He would have to go under his homeowners policy or hope he has a really good renters policy. Then minus the deductible of course...

Comp coverage is in case your vehicle is stolen, vandalized, hit an animal, rocks break your window, or burns up while parked somewhere, etc.

Sorry, your cues got stolen.

I never keep my pool cues/case in the car, NEVER. I also let everyone know that I don't keep my cues in my car. Even if I drop by the pool room to sweat someone else's match, I take the cue and case out of my car. It is a little inconvenient to lug the cue and case when you know you're not going to use it but at least I know the thieves will have to take them off of my back. (I have a back pack case from JB Cases).
