Bookmaker odds are Nick does 10, don't 9.

At this point this isn't about odds anymore, this is "the day of truth"...

I agree. I'm just providing what the pool handicappers are saying. :grin-square:

As most know, ANYTHING is possible when it comes to the luck game of rotation 9-ball. Sometimes a player may not make one mistake and still lose if he doesn't get a lucky roll every now and then. ;)

Unlike poker, which is more dependent on the luck of the deal, the skill set of a pool player needs to be strong in two areas. Poker requires a mental strength in knowledge of the game and strategies, et cetera, but pool requires both to a higher degree, IMO.

Both poker and pool do have a luck factor, though.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Once you attain the mechanical skills of pool, the rest is mental fortitude and strength. It is this trait of mental strength that separates the lions from the lambs -- or said in pool terms, the shortstops from the champions. ;)

I think it's going to be a lot closer than people think. Shane wins 11-9!

I like that 11-9 score but feel it could go either way. After watching these 2 players put on performances all thru the tournament, I am hoping each man plays their best and the contest is close and a hellaofa shootout. Go Shane and Nick

I think Nick learned a lot for his 10k race to a 100 beating at the hands of Shane. I think Nick will play him better this time. That being said, Shane is on a mission and wants #3 in a row...4 total bad. 11-8 SVB. Johnnyt

Truth is Nick lucked, his draw lineup is not as harsh as others, got lucky in matches. But with SVB, the luck factor is not going to be effective. SVB 11, Nick 6 , and Dennis O going to knock him off too!

Prediction, Nick will get to seven.

11-3, Shane on top.

Anyone else watching this now? Nick almost scratched 3 times, the pockets are being nice. Shane looks solid. Bad choice on that 8 where he scratched

Both look very solid to me. Nick is getting into stroke, this could be a lot closer than I thought it would be.

Yes. I like the rack inspection by Nick and Jay immediately followed by the wing ball corner pocket.
