Anybody have a chance to try out their free Magic Chalk?

Just seeing if anyone that was offered the free trial of magic chalk had anything to say? Doesn't exclude current users as well. I just got mine today and I'm chomping at the the bit to see how it holds up to the other brands I like.

Currently my favorite is the Great White as I was extremely lucky to get the first piece as a trial. It is by far the best I've ever used in all aspects. Hitting those slow spin shots with confidence.

Magic chalk got a rave rating according to dr. Dave's experiment. I believe it was 29 shots before a miscue.

FYI Renfro's great white got atleast 35 by all the ppl I let try. Playing all over the CB during those shots.

Hate to say it but if magic chalk holds up to the results then I may lean more towards it as I'm a sucker for the cube.

It was actually pretty damn good from what little I was able to try it out...

Goes on the tip easily and fully, seems to get great to excellent grip on the cb.

I'll be using it this weekend in the Mezz West State event and I'll come back and give it a full review afterwards.

Did u notice anything in terms of glazing ur tip over? I've been using masters and triangle on my ki-tech hard and it seems to be making it glaze over faster then when I use other types of chalk.

I shot an entire rack of 15 balls without a miscue as a test yesterday but It's hard to break the chalking habit. I will be hard pressed to shoot a critical draw shot without chalking even if I just chalked on the last shot.

That's why I still use Master's. Master's always works, when I chalk every shot.

I can't think at the table without simulataneously chalking. Without chalking I probably couldn't figure out which ball to hit next...in 2-ball.

I tried Blue Diamond with a friend...Chalked once and put chalk away in case...Played 1 1/2 hours without chalking or a miscue...
But...In league I found myself chalking after every shot from habit..I couldn't get it in my mine to not chalk every shot so I quit using it..I understand the last posters comment..

I have had Magic Chalk on me for a bit now. I love it. Is it better than the others? Eh... the other chalks are pretty good, too.

Freddie <~~~ could always use a bit of Magic

I don't have the nerve to try Magic chalk....
I'm afraid my bankroll will disappear.

I was using Kamui chalk because it didn't wear the tip out at all.
I miscued with it a few times.

I switched to the Magic chalk and have only miscued once in over 1000 balls pocketed.

I think it will wear the tip down a little faster but it seems to stay on the tip better than the Kamui.

There's no question in my mind Kamui goes on easier and stays on better. However, the difference isn't that great and the magic chalk doesn't mark up the cb nearly so much. Pretty good chalk.

I have been using Magic Chalk for the last four or five years exclusively. I introduced Chicago RJ, Ted Antle, Bob C, and many other AZ members in the Chicago area to it. I have seen many naysayers turned into believers after they spent some time using it. From the first time I used it I knew there was a significant difference in the way it did not miscue and the way it seems to hold the cue ball. It has been in my case ever since and I am very happy to see the rest of the pool community enjoying using it. Stay down and play well!

Thanks, great info. But, please, whatever you do, come back with a WIN

GOOD LUCK

I have it on reliable sources that Karen Corr was provided a piece of Magic Chalk, she LOVED it, and she now ordered 3 boxes.

I sold to the guy who is buying it for her. But, he is a regular AZ'er, and have no reason to doubt him. If anyone see's Karen playing, please see if she is chalking up with a black cube of chalk (the paper not the chalk color)

I received a piece from RJ and finally got to test it out today. The chalk performed well enough, but I don't really know how to evaluate it as I rarely miscue using the chalk at the pool hall. To be honest I sometimes rarely chalk between shots when I'm playing and just use whatever is available which is usually masters. Honestly, I thought I would notice a huge difference but I struggle to see it. Granted it is nice to have piece of mind knowing that I won't miscue as often as I would between shots. Chalk worked great though and I would buy another.

Where does one buy the Magic Chalk? Somehow I lost my last Kamui, been using master past week. I was not planning on any more kamui, but I have been waiting sometime now to get Great White from Renfro. But but Magic Chalk sounds like I would like it, just need to find some.

Just got some about a week ago from RJ and have been using it everyday since. First impression was it seemed to grab a little better but might just be the hype working on my head. At any rate its certainly as good as BD and Masters. The one thing I just noticed is my hands aren't blue. The way I chalk normally my hand is blue at the end of a session. It's not dusty, but still soft. Neat/clean combination. ( I need to learn to chalk properly )

As far as not chalking, I don't recommend it. I did a little test since I read all this no chalk stuff and miscued on the 3rd shot. Mind you I was also testing max English. I mean, at the very edge of mis-cue limits.

Tonight I was checking out angles on the 3-Cushion tables at IL Billiard Club getting ready to play their National Qualifier tomorrow and hit 2 follow shots - full ball hit, up table and back with relative ease. That's at least 15' of CB travel on 100 year old Brunswick's. That alone, IMO says its good enough to have the confidence to at least try out a piece and see what you think.

I have been using Kamui chalk exclusively for the last year and its hard for me to want to make a switch. I have not gotten the chance to try out my free piece yet, because I just got it yesterday and haven't had a chance to hit the pool hall. I think I might try it out tonight and will post a review after I feel like I have given it a more than fair chance. Thank you by the way for the free piece to sample.

I got a free cube but not from you.
I got it from the famous Phil the Fin a professional rail bird.
I think it works just fine.

I have been using magic chalk for a while now and have been very happy with it. It's great for drills/practice, since you can shoot several shots in a row without chalking. I still chalk between every shot during a game (part of my pre-shot routine). As a previous poster stated, my hands (and I assume my shaft) are much cleaner using magic chalk than with other chalks (predator, blue diamond and master) I have tried.
