I am a Producer for American Road Player, Let's Talk

Will you guys be in ny or nj ?

I would say there is really good chance they'll be in Jersey. Most likely, in North NJ, which is Spanky's stomping grounds.

I like the idea for the show. I feel like this part of Pool is what mainstream America would be interested in following. I really hope that the producer(s) can execute it well. Alos, the idea of being able to get updates on their road trip for a nominal $25 is a good one. Hell, we're all action and drama junkies.

Eric

Thanks for the comments and questions. We have been raising money in more traditional ways for this show for over six months now and this is the final step to the $100K budget. The shooting will begin in mid January and finish at the Derby so, we are raising the money now to shoot then. Our plan is to also bring in the audience while we are shooting with on-the-road video updates, live events and so on. Check out these incentives on our site:

Thanks
Peyton

Can you give a breakdown of the $100K budget and how you arrived at this number?

First, i'll say that I'm a definite supporter and think it will definitely be entertaining.

However, I'm a little confused. Are you a hobbyist/novice producer, or just young in your career?

It would seem as if the monies required to make this thing go off are insignificant relative to your industry. I would think that any established producer would have the financial means, and confidence in himself to stake it on his own. I would also think that an experienced competent producer would have a list of clients who typically don't mind investing in productions.

That aside, I wish you the best of luck.

FYI: If you would like to make Sherman, TX a stop on your list, i'll guarantee 5 figure action from the crew here.

Thanks Eric. The $25 donation is called "The Action Experience" and we are really excited to share some of these experiences with those who have helped to make it happen. Thanks for the support and spread the word. You can also like us on Facebook here

This ^^^^^. One guy up there can cover your budget for the next 5 yrs, if things worked out just right lol

The budget is based on our experience of the last three years of filming this world and the plans we have for shooting season one. We are not releasing a breakdown at this time because we have not finalized the route, cities, cast and crew and don't want to release false information.

Thanks for your support and I am glad to hear you think it will be entertaining. I can say that I have been in the entertainment business for 20 years in NYC, so I don't consider myself a novice and I believe that my promotional video is evidence of that. We have worked very hard to provide a product that will represent our experience as filmmakers and professionals. This project is especially important to me because I have a great deal of passion for pool as I have played it for most of my life. I have brought other producers onto the team who have much bigger resumes than I do because I want this show to be the best it can be. You can check them out on the indiegogo site. At the end of the day, a producer's job is not to put up his own money, but to find investors who believe in the product just like any other business. We are still making efforts to find more traditional investors and this campaign is a way to build confidence in the idea! This is why I am here. It's not easy to get something new started and I aim to change that. This is the beginning and once we share this story with the world, it will be easier to raise more money. Hope this helps and I appreciate your questions and positive comments about the show!
Thanks
Peyton

Good luck with your project

Peyton,

i have not read the whole thread, but it looks like i am in the minority.
I do not care for the style of gambling that this group participates in.
Enjoy watching great pool for high stakes, just don’t care for the antics & theatrics.
Hopefully, whatever portion of this that is to take place at the dcc, takes place up stairs.

All that being said:

Good luck with the project, i wish you success.

Slim

Thank you Slim. We know that not everyone has the same sensibilities for all aspects of this sport, but we hope that we can provide entertainment in a way that will be interesting for a broad spectrum of people. Thanks again for your show of positive support.

Do you know anyone in the market for a Factory new Diamond Pool Table or Ball Polisher or 9' table light. Diamond has made it possible for us to sell these at significantly reduced prices to help the show.
We also have Derby City 9 day passes for $10 off and a weekend package that includes a room at the Horseshoe!
Check it out:

We will also negotiate the shipping and handling. We need your help to get this ball rolling so it's a win win!

Thanks

There is no way in the world that 4 or 5 pool players can make a living on the road together, especially the way Scooter and his crew gamble, they will bet on anything, flipping coins, ect ect ect. They would have to have a nother way of making money while on the road, as most of us know they do.

Neither one of them are near a top players speed, so with that being said they better be very careful of who they play and match up with.

I cant wait to see this happen (show) , but in realality how can these guys make the scores nite after nite that it takes to survive while playing pool for a living on the road, They just are not capable of generating all the money that would be needed for them to survive on the road by playing pool ONLY.

I would give them a so so chance of making it on the road if they didn't gamble the way scooter does (BETTING ON ANY THING).

One doesn't bet on 50- 50( flipping coins) games while on the road and survive!

But I honestly do Hope Scooter and the crew comes through with these show, I will be watching!

Scooter and the boys must beat a hugh nut, to send money home to their familys and have enough in their pockets to move on from one place to the next!

How much? Diamond sells "discounted" tables at the DCC every year that have had only a few days of play on them. The "broad audience" that you seek is most likely to show up at Derby City!

Too me the Road Player has more appeal than some of the crap on cable like the guy with one tooth who catches critters down in the hill of hill country. Turtleman & company.

But them weird folks are not begging for production money on the internet, so some one is backing many of the strange shows like Horney Boob Boob.

Anyone foolish enough to mock a show named after a child with sexual innuendo is foolish enough to have their own reality show, maybe you should look into it. It could be called "How I learned to love dropping the soap in the shower" or something like that.

Well as you did not, or don't get the joke I made, let me make my point real simple for you to get hopefully.

When I saw in the trailer of American Road Player it seemed to me like it had a better chance of attracting an audience, keeping an audience for more than 5 minutes. Than shows like the Boo Boo Show. that apparently was a hit???

Some of the shows on cable TV make me question what the target audience is for some shows, and who really watches some shows week, after week. Attracting sponsor to buy time that is part of the equation to keeping a show in a prime spot.

But than I understand America has been dumbed way down. So maybe those cable TV producers know more about the demographics of TV viewer than I do.

Now I am watching TV, and we have a promotion advertising a 3 Hour Long Whale Wars Special coming up in a few days. I am sure people will be glued to their TV's watch this special...ME NOT!

Perhaps

Maybe you could get Scooters partner Russian Kenny to donate that 7K he airbarreled that 17 year old kid at last year's DCC. He has as much morality as your other 2 deadbeats...I mean stars.

I would daresay that a public forum is anywhere for that accusation. I can absolutely say with one hundred percent guarantee that nobody I personally know would get hustled for that amount and still be waiting for payment today.
