Deleting threads

Physically they were all dangerous, Charlie was just one notch crazier.

I have been stabbed twice and stuck up at gun point 4 times, but never in the john. Once in North Carolina, once in Minneapolis, twice in Dallas (not by Charlie). Incidentally they never got all my money, I was fortunate to do the right thing at the right time or I would not be writing this or any other post - much to the chagrin of yourself and a few others. ;)

Billy T and George M were both extremely tough, but Charlie was on another level. Physically they were all dangerous, Charlie was just one notch crazier.

Do you know the story of the pool player short changing him $3? He was driving a car, said "that's the last time you short change me" and immediately pulled out his pistol and shot him dead in the car. He pulled over, dumped the lifeless pool player out and continued driving like he was going to the grocery store for milk and bread.

Billy T. and George were around Dallas when I was younger, so I heard all their stories.

The Chicago mob was trying to take over their territory and sent a strong arm/hit man to take care of Charlie (I'm not sure if Billy and George were involved). Charlie knocked him out, tied him up with wire, stuck him in a box and shipped him back to Chicago.........C.O.D.

Not that you would care, but it is impolite to include "inside jokes" when dealing with a broad audience !..In any event, Charlie Boyd never tried to pull the 'trigger' on me in Dallas ! (or anywhere else in Texas)...He knew he would have to answer to Billy T Dyer, Garon Hensley, Geo.McGann, or a few of my other good friends ! ;)

SJD

PS..You should have tried to cultivate a few friends, yourself...Martial Arts, didn't work to good against Charlie's Colt 45, when he caught you in the john..did it..???

I don't believe the mod's will even think of deleting this thread !..It has been very informative to the general populace, and there has been no real bloodshed..Some of us may have suffered some level of embarrassment, but, we should be used to that by now ! (right Mr. Wiley ?)

I liked the book 'The Road Less Traveled' , it starts out "Life is difficult."

I am pretty easy to find, there's a pool tournament every night except Mondays (tonight there's a private, high stakes poker game with pool tables to go to).

Yes, their are a couple that are incorrigible, probably in relation to their personal life's suffering. I was told a long time ago to be nice to everyone, you never know the challenges they are facing in life.

I liked the book 'The Road Less Traveled' , it starts out "Life is difficult." - that nearly sums it up in three words doesn't it? :groucho:

CJ,

You've got the fan club hanging on every word you post! Don't make excuses for what you do. You don't owe anybody an explanation. You're in Dallas, so they know where to find you and come out from behind their keyboard.

A few noted their displeasure with you with class in this thread. Just a few. I want to thank those few. The rest need to stop stalking CJ, really.

It's the same 6-8 posters who trash talk every time. You follow the guy around and bait him, trying to get a rise out of him. If you want to debate with him, post like SJD or HU and show some respect. You think he reads your bashing posts and takes your advice? A page more is all I give this thread before it's removed, too.

Best,
Mike.

You were maybe too young to understand, CJ...They were all crazy, except for my good bud, Billy T., who was probably physically the toughest, and feared no one !..And McGann could give Boyd, the 5 out for crazy !..I'm very glad it doesn't really matter any more, that I knew for sure, of a couple people Geo. and 'Stanley the Creeper' had done in !..I'm not sure if its true or not, but rumor had it at that time, that Mc Gann had Jack Ruby kill Oswald (for [sic] reasons unknown).. Charlie Boyd was known to be a 'spot picker'...There were several REALLY mean MFer's around Dallas, that Charlie would not mess with..(sorry, you were not one of them ;)) ask Alfie, or read his book !

There was some really high profile s**t going on in Dallas, around the time of the Kennedy assassination !..Jack Ruby was a semi-regular at the Cotton Bowling Palace..Myself, Bill Stroud, Jack and Alfie Taylor (& many others) were all very aware of some strange goings on !.. I am absolutely convinced, that still today, NO ONE, not us, or even the Warren Commission, knows exactly what happened !

PS..Just for grins CJ, without googling, do you know what happened to Billy T. and George ? (you may not get the straight story from google )

Mike,

Nobody responds well to "in your face" most certainly including me. I enjoy CJ's stories and have only occasionally seen him turn mean or spiteful. I don't remember if it was called for or not and in truth it wasn't my ox getting gored so I might not have seen it the same way CJ did.

CJ either doesn't realize that some of his favored buzz words grate on people like fingernails on a chalkboard of the old slate variety after reading them seemingly dozens of times or he doesn't care. I would like to see him be more sparing with some of the irritants and I think everyone should either resize or at least manually remove the big signatures in all but the first post they place in a thread. It isn't hard to remove them, I did it when I had a small automatic signature.

I value all of the old road players. They get fewer by the day seemingly. CJ is young enough to be around awhile to tell stories to the next generation. I don't sweat the stories being word for word true, memories improve with time. I used to sit around with my old car owners and listen as they told great stories about my driving. Vastly flattering, but I was there and don't remember it quite like that!

Hu

Hu,

As always, a well thought out, articulate post. You come straight to the point and state your mind without bashing and berating any individual. I can't disagree with a man that speaks his mind this way in principle, only in content.

You know, a little poetic license is never hard to take when done in a good spirited way. I'm sure that those track stories sound slightly better with just a touch of embellishment at just the right time. :) I'm sure you've got a few that'd be worth hearing.

A post like yours will always get a serious audience when the recipient isn't bobbing and weaving incoming jabs. A little thought before pushing the submit button goes a loooong way.

Best,
Mike

Johnny Carson was a funny guy. It seems like everyone with the name "Carson" has that magical gift of humor.

Yer kidding right.

Johnny's monologue came from a Teleprompter.

It was only slightly better than sitting in a sealed room, breathing in the fumes from oil based paint and watching it dry.

Funny thread tho. Mark G starts a Thread re the Deletion of Cleary's Thread.

Mark G hurts CJ's feelings, so in retaliation, CJ takes over Mark's Thread with a bunch of Twaddle.

Basically, the exact same Twaddle that got Cleary's Thread Deleted.

Or at least, started it on it's way.

No more, no less. Just a big Screw You to Mark.

CJ has successfully taken over yet another thread and made it into a CJ Thread.

Not that I will ever be a Mod on AZ, but truthfully, I would have Torched this one as soon as CJ got going on it again.

But not to Fret CJ. If they ever make me a Mod, I will seriously push for your very own CJ Sub Forum.

I think it will be called.

Stroking my Ego is the Teacher. or maybe, Lets Talk About Me.

CJ. You're running a close second to John Barton in the annoyingness dept as of late. This was somewhat of a half meaningful discussion before you popped in.

Eddie Phillips was a good friend and one of the best poker players in Dallas.

Thanks, yes John is a really cool guy, we spent some time together when he was touring Texas. He's making me a case with some really cutting edge artwork. I know it will take some time because it's the "TOI" of pool cases (sorry, John, I couldn't resist).

On a different note I just got a call from Jack in Las Vegas that Eddie Phillips died 5 hours ago. Eddie was a good friend and one of the best poker players in Dallas.

I know this doesn't have anything to do with deleting threads, but for anyone that knew Eddie I will tell you funeral information if you want, although we won't know the day until tomorrow.

man, if you're going to do something at least do it well.

I agree.

Some of these guys are so bad at making their negative points about me I feel like helping them......is that crazy or what?

It's like, man, if you're going to do something at least do it well.

Speaking of being able to do it well.

I have been stabbed twice and stuck up at gun point 4 times.

Congratulations CJ. I have never put myself in a position to have come anywhere close to this. Yet, I have done some pretty stupid shite in my life.

Maybe if you like, you can relate how you were able to achieve this feat.

Knives hurt muchly. I was working the ER one night. They brought a young girl in with a butcher knife stuck in her chest. Once they sedated her, I took her for a CT Scan. I was watching from the control room. Damned if the tip of the knife came up 1/4" short of an artery.

It was the result of a drinking party. Apparently, her own Father did that to her. Prolly over the last beer in the fridge.

Were you actually stabbed or just get a little poke. Big difference.

Sorry to hear about your Friend. It's never nice to lose a Buddy.

Damn, that's interesting! Do you know who shot J. R. too? I knew who shot him before it even came on TV! LMAO!

I believe totally the OPPOSITE of you on JFK, however. I STRONGLY believe that "someone/someones" in the government know EXACTLY what happened and who were involved. I also believe it wasn't something they LEARNED years later and just haven't released...I think they knew it at the time.

I believe that is one of the LAST secrets that will be found out when somebody like Snowden spills the beans on what's in the INTEL closet.

Billy Mays was the best shuffleboard player in the world for 45 years

I know all about them, Billy Mays knocked Billy T. clean out one night.

Billy, for those that don't know was the best shuffleboard player in the world for 45 years. He may be the most dominant man to ever play any game or sport. He also traveled the road all over the country usually traveling with pool players, or card sharks.

'The Games are our Teacher'

Hawaiian, I never thought of Snowden having that info.

Wouldn't that be Grand if he did. Not for him of Corpse. He already is in enuff trouble.

Maybe he is saving the best for last.

I used to hold a tournament each year in Volcanos. Give Morgan a hug for me.

Speaking of "clean" and Billy Mays, which Billy Mays you talking about? The only Billy Mays I know travelled the world selling OxiClean. Talking about "woofers", this guy was probably the best in the business. Bet he could woof up a good pool game.

They had a Calcutta that was almost 100k there at one of there biggest tournaments.

Shuffleboard is taken seriously at Volcanos, that's for sure. I have no idea who "Morgan" is though. They had a Calcutta that was almost 100k there at one of there biggest tournaments.

I thought he was the oxyclean spokesman...oops late to that party. Was Billy Mays spending all day wondering why shuffleboard didn't pay millions like golf and tennis? My town (a large resort) used to have big shuffleboard, pool, and darts leagues every offseason for the townies....pretty much equal gender participation except the men dominated the darts leagues.

Billy Mays is 25 times World Champion....... incredible!!!

Click his picture to see some amazing shuffleboard tricks. Billy Mays is 25 times World Champion....... incredible!!!

Can you hear me now ???..Well, I guess its time to wrap it up..CJ has drifted off to shuffleboardland, and is talking about another old friend of mine !...And the Hawaiian guy, is saying basically the same thing I did, (Not the "OPPOSITE" doorknob, can't you read ?) but he doesn't know it !.. plus, he wants to talk about who shot JR Ewing !...Sorry guys, I refuse to debate ANY subject with a pair of semi-literates, obviously drunk, or stoned beyond all powers of reason ! :o

Sooooo, Sayonara, and Adios, (both mean goodbye)... Oprah re-runs, are more enjoyable than talking to you two... But I think I'll go have a cocktail with my favorite bar maids ! ;) (you can see more of them on Facebook..just look up "Times Three Bar and Grill" in Glendale, Az.) :p

SJD.. Can still maintain his decorum ! (and his common sense) :p
