I haven't heard anything about him for a while. He is one of my favorite players to watch, especially in 14.1

I am not sure where OO has been but in the 90's he was as good as you can get on rotation games. Fantastic player.

He's still playing!

His name came up a few months ago, he's not traveling, I think he stopped that once he opened up a Pool Hall, but he still plays and competes at a very high level in his country.

Hi,

I'm the president of our german association BC Queue HH in Hamburg Germany. Oliver Ortmann play in our first team in the 2. Bundesliga level and it looks like that we turn in the 1. Bundeliga level after this season. Oliver train us and he play some tournaments in europe. He's still activ!

Best,

Andreas Pahlke

As Oliver is one of the few that has won both the World 9-ball Championship and the World 14.1 Championship, I'd favor his induction into the BCA Hall of Fame. Add to that that he has been a role model in pool for decades.

I second this.

His mother had cancer a couple years ago , never heard anything of her situation. Oliver is one of the best all time straight pool guys in my opinion , very smooth and decisive player at that game.

I agree, Oliver has always been one of my favorite players. He helped my when I first came back and started playing again at HARDTIMES.

The match at Hard Times between Oliver & Dennis Orcullo at a IPT qualifying event was one of the finest I have ever watched. Hill, hill and won by Dennis with a great run out. Talked to Oliver briefly that weekend and the conversation made me realize how rusty my German has gotten.

That qualifying tournament was probably the finest tournament I have ever watched with players from all over the world putting up 2K while knowing only two guys would get the invitations. It was Dennis' first time in the states. I wish that Bush hadn't squashed on-line gambling because as bad a person as Trudeau was he had a great idea that he was executing to perfection. I still occasionally see his commercials on TV. What is that all about? In jail for fraud and can still run the commercials? Weird.

Saw you at the event as well C.J. That was a very sporty medium brown leather jacket you were wearing C.J.
