2015 DCC Bigfoot tournament

We will be playing with "Texas Express" rules, meaning a player can play a two way shot, which I think is an important strategic shot in pool. The only rule that will be different is that the ten ball won't count on the break anywhere. It will re-spot if made on the break, which is a rare occurrence in Tan Ball anyway, using a good rack.

I'm pretty sure we are using the Cyclops balls with the "measle" cue ball. The only problem I've seen with the Cyclops balls was the cue ball. I don't like the coloring of some of the balls, but they play just fine and that's what counts.

Why can't cyclop supply you with their traditional colored ball set. No more controversy with the pastel colors. Hd video nowadays, colors are perfectly recognizable.

That would be too much change. TV balls are required for the TV Table as only TV balls can be seen on the TV, aka computer monitor. They are called the TV set for a reason.

Jay -- WPA "call shot" 10-ball rules do not do away with the most common form of two-way shot (playing to either make the called ball or leave the opponent safe in event of a miss). That is, there is no option to return the shot after a normal miss. WPA rules do, however, prevent the less common form of two-way shot (playing to make either ball A or ball B), as only one ball can be nominated.

Very excited to see Jeff Ignacio is coming to Derby and will be playing. Would love to see Biado get into the field also. Jay, you do a great job with this event. Looking forward to some great matches!

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Texas Express has been used in the past at the Bigfoot, and it's one of the greatest shows on earth!

... and, by the way, what a field! I'm guessing that only the giants of the game are capable of snapping this off.

Like many, I can't wait to see Jeff Ignacio at his first Derby.

Raj Hundal is out, replaced by Jeremy Sossei.

Which, I think, yields the following field:

Johnny Archer
Chris Bartram
Ruben Bautista
Francisco Bustamante

Lee Vann Corteza
Mike Dechaine
Jeff Ignacio
Jason Klatt

John Morra
Rodney Morris
Dennis Orcollo
Alex Pagulayan

Jayson Shaw
Jeremy Sossei
Shane Van Boening
Nick Van Den Berg

Damn what a lineup. With a field like this and single elimination who knows, but the way Shaw is playing right now he's got to be my pick.

Will it be rack your own, rack for each other, or referee rack? Ive watched it the last couple years in person, but I can't remember how they racked.

IMO the Bigfoot always generates the best DVDs to collect and watch repeatedly. The matches involve beautiful shot making and strategy, it's a work of art.
Can't wait.

What are the chances of extending semi and final to 13???

Or to implement the win by 2 format that is now in place at us open for semi and final only???

Field looks awesome as usual, btw.... Keep up the good work Jay...

Rack your own, with the Diamond rack. ALL matches are a Race to Eleven, per Accu-Stats deal with various television outlets.

No dead money here!

What were races last year, were they to 15 ?

Actually Jay's health needed the races to be to 11... Accu-Stats did the finals of the race to 15 matches in Tunica and I was looking for a boat, a bucket and a bag of cement because I was going to take him on a boat ride if we had to shoot a whole tournament as races to 15.....;)
