Alex just CRUCIFIED Efren

True. Not sure how anybody can doubt Shane now. I'm not a huge fan of Shane, but I have tremendous respect for his ability. He might end up being the best player ever at the rate he is going.

Rotation player ,, he's still way behind a few in all around

I'm a huge Alex fan.

He seems like a very fun / fluid player that in the best of times makes it look easy w/o having to work it to death. ( ok he's talented )

That said he seems to been working very hard at nailing competitions down is recent times. Trying snooker and Chinese eight ball is simply putting effort where the payouts are. (tables have some similarities)

I am hoping Alex does well this week both on the clock and off.

Is the coverage of the DCC spotty at best here on AZB or am I missing a better site?

I've thought for a while now that Alex is the best all-around player in the world. You take all the games and rank all the players and I think Alex comes out on top overall.

I think he is great, but it depends on what you mean for all around

Shane would have to be the favorite in 8 ball, 9 ball, 10 ball. Sure, Shane may be an underdog in one pocket (however he has improved in this realm quite a bit). It is hard to argue against Shane's merits.

If Alex is on top of his game I'd say Shane is a slight favorite in 9 ball and 10 ball. I'm not sure about 8 ball, and I think Alex is the favorite in 14.1, one-pocket, and banks.

35 minute blowout. Efren probably shot an .875 and got run out on 3 times handily. Alex is in beast mode.

Wow heard on ABR that Efren is favorite for Master of Table after strong performances in 1P and Banks After winning recent MP Cup in Dec, Efren is on the rise
Alex must also be favorite for Master of Table

Sorry that you were absolutely clueless to make the statement that Alex isn't thought of as one of the best one pocket players. He's top 5 for sure (possibly top 3), and there isn't a soul in the world jumping up to play him for big cash.

In countless discussions on AZB about the top 1-pocket players out there Alex is very rarely mentioned. Efren and Scott tend to get a tremendous amount of mention, Shannon Daulton gets some props from old school people, and very rarely does anyone think to remember Alex in the discussion.

That is a fact when it comes to discussions of the top level of 1-pocket on AZB. The fact you are Mr. Johnny come lately on the forum and don't have a clue does not change the facts.

His name is mentioned plenty in this thread http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=302812

Just face the actual fact that you're wrong. It's not the first time.

I tend to agree. Alex gets mentioned in a lot of top ten lists, but he gets left out of a lot of people's top tens, too. Contrast this with an SVB, an Efren or a Frost, who are in basically every top ten list you ever see, and I think it's fair to point out that Alex is forgotten a bit.

I think Alex gets left off a lot of 'top 3' lists coz he has historically used pool as a vehicle to gamble, and he like to gamble at a lot of things...meaning people categorize him more as a 'gambler' than a 'player'.

No doubt about it though: He comes to play and wants to win. Plus, he does it all with a smile on his face. I think he's top-notch and a threat to win any major event he enters..when he decides to come down from the proverbial mountain and get in the grease...

Any pool pro who takes a year practicing on a snooker table, will no doubt come back with perfect pool stroke, stance, and aim, will be hard to beat. Look at all american players, their stroke is at least 6 to 8" whereas Alex barley moves his shaft 2-3" ..huge key to making pots long ones especially.

Congrats to Alex.
