Call shot 10 Ball, winner breaks on a 10' Diamond, with a race to 11 or more is my favorite game to watch.. It has it all for me and really displays a pro players talents due to the big table. call shot rules and breaking difficulty.

one pocket is my game of choice to watch. the moves and strategies gives the viewer things to think about. nine ball ten ball, appears to be docile except when a safety battle is in place. thus one pocket is always a safety battle.

totally agree 100%

I like watching 14.1. 8 ball and 9 ball are good because people that aren't as into it as much as us pool lovers can relate to them. 2 things make one pocket good to watch are: first, top players, otherwise it seems that the players are just ducking too much. Second, the watcher must really like one pocket to give a diddle about strategy that may not be clear to the observer. Really, long safety battles are boring unless the cue ball must travel lots and stop precisely....lots of safeties in snooker are like this, and it makes them fun to watch because all spectators can appreciate the skill

+ another 100%

One pocket also....the game has a depth that rotation games don't have.
In the action days, the highest rolling 1-hole game got the most spectators.

It's like strolling through a park and seeing a chess game...if you play chess, you have
to stop and see what you would do in that position.

The game I would watch the least is call shot 10-ball....
...the only thing worse is call shot 10-ball with the option.

Women's beach volleyball holds my attention pretty good:wink: 1 pocket a distant second....Matt D.

..gotta go with this one. Add the occasional Olympic women's ice skating....then maybe one pocket for the educational value/harder to watch than play sometimes...then you have your 5 hour golf on snooker table, also tough to watch, but fun to play.;)

I assume you're asking about watching pros play.

One-pocket

10-ball (call shot, call safe)

American Rotation

Banks

Straight pool

9-ball

8-ball (we play a version where you have to bank one ball in your group; if not, you have to bank the 8-ball. It adds an interesting bit of difficulty to the run-out. I wish the pros would play it).

One pocket is about the only game I will watch. Like Ken said, banks if the players a top notch. I find 10 ball and 9 ball to repetitive and get bored easily.

I've been gravitating toward one-pocket as my game of choice to watch. Yes, I am a chess player and I see some similarities, but I don't really play the game so there's a lot for me to figure out.

My favorite part is watching them try to play defense until one or the other leaves a shot. The actual runout is kinda prosaic compared to all the strategy leading up to it, but it's better than having to endure a long up table game. That's the only part of the game that can wear on me.

Banks I'm just getting into, and it's pretty cool to watch. I really dig the televised ring game at DCC. Very interesting to watch.

My favorite game to watch is snooker. A good snooker game is always entertaining. I also enjoy straight pool a lot and 10 ball on a 10 footer.

Agreed !...Any rotation game, is a 'paint by numbers' situation...14.1 is even more boring to watch !
..One pocket challenges both the player, and the spectator, to think strategy !..Thats why its the game of choice to gamble at ! ;)
