If You Could Ask Any One Pool Player Any One Question …

Dear Gentle Readers,

I should imagine that the ‘who’ would precede the ‘what.’ Who would you select - - Willie? Efren? Keith? Earl? Each one, and dozens of others, could prove to be fascinating to you deft interrogators.

As to what to ask … well, limited to only one question, I’d forego my usual flippancy. I wouldn’t, for example, ask Niels if he really, truly, honestly is happily married to a gorgeous wife with beautiful children way up there in Scandinavia. Or wherever he settled.

(Although Niels updates would be acceptable. Just in case.)

So the question before this tribunal of wisdom is twofold: who and what?

Curiosity is my life,

Sunny

Who: Mike Sigel
What: What did you do to prepare when you were in the finals?
Why: Because he was an absolute beast if he got there. He didn't book many losers if he got there.
Good question Sunny one!

Hey Efren! How'd you do that?!?!

*Is there a limit to how many times I can ask the one question?*

Niels is happily married, and an incredible representative for the sport.

Who: Efren Reyes
What: If he thinks CJ Wiley's TOI DVD is silly.

Maybe you could ask Niels or his gorgeous wife that bought if for him for Christmas in 2013.......and yes, Niels is happily married, and an incredible representative for the sport.

Sigel: Why did you retire?

Earl: Have you ever been professionally diagnosed?

Buddy: Ahh... Hmm... Can I ask about that combo in the Challenge of Champions?

Who: Hoppe
What: Did anyone ever tell you, you can't play pool and win with a side stroke like yours?

I did ask it and it was meant to be rhetorical

I was able to ask Efren that question and it was meant to be rhetorical, I thought the answer was "because it's Efren"....

The funny thing was that he answered it by describing what I later came to understand was BHE....

Question for Willie Hoppe....

I understand that you didn't actually use a diamond system when you played...
...you basically introduced it to the public as a teaching method.

Soooooo...the question is...
When a player gets to a certain level of competence...should he stop
using the diamond system, like a kid riding a bicycle sheds the training wheels?

WHO: CJ
WHAT: what question do you have?
;)
(good thread, OP! and i'd like to reserve the right for another post)

Hatch: How did you break your arm?

Shane: Why didn’t you ask for a better chair in TAR20? (Earl was in a padded chair with a back and arm rests while Shane was stuck on a 3-leg stool)

Mizerak: Where can I get a good chicken fried steak around here?
