I personally love the look of ivory in inlays, joints, and ferrules. I don't like the ivory ferrules or joints in my personal player as I feel the ferrules are heavier, and being in a hot to cold dry area, would be concerned with maintenence.
Not interested in throwing more fuel into a debate here, but I believe that pro ivory cue owners can mind their own business and enjoy their beautiful cues. And anti ivory cue owners can also mind their own business and enjoy their non ivory beautiful cues.
I do believe however, that there are more productive ways to protect wildlife than by doing damage to somebody's personal property. Like researching the topic, and learning what kind of ivory goes into a cue. Where and how it was harvested. And how the ivory used in American made cues does not contribute to the lawless destruction of wildlife.
