Tony "T-Rex" Chohan is home!

you should be a lot more fearful of the REAL criminals who oversee your pension, health insurance, and retirement funds... and they all happen to dress, talk, and act like business professionals.

Tony paid the price and did his time. We should let him get on with his life.

Exactly. The worst is so many people don't know the real criminals are on wall st.

Stratton-Oakmont got me for a big chunk, and all of those guys should of done time.
What Stratton-Oakmont did is way worse than getting caught in a setup drug bust.
Tony was setup or he got sucked in, either way his crime doesn't compare to
Stratton-Oakmont's crimes, and the poor guy did 7-years.

I think drug dealing should be a crime, but some of these lighter sentences in comparison are eye opening.

I just watched a Dateline where at least 3 women were trying to hire hit men (stings) to kill their husbands. In one case a grandmother was trying to hire a hitman to kill her daughter-in-law and two grandchildren to protect her son from child molestation charges.

Average sentence; 5 years. I guess the message is: trying to whack your family is not as bad as selling dope.

It seems the mindset is that when people are trafficking large quantities of drugs, it is considered a crime against the community at large.

And not just the drugs that will be consumed but also the violence, etc., that often accompanies this trade as the products make their way down to the streets.

But, yes, the authorities can def trump up the charges quite a bit when they want to. They can sell you on one side then buy from you on the other side enough for you to qualify for things like the RICO Act, then you're jammed up bigtime.

I know in my state, and probably many others, if you get caught with drugs and you happen to be within 1000 feet of a school, this qualifies you for extra charges and the penalty does go up.

Drug dealers, or maybe even guys who like to smoke a little every now and then should consider this when shopping for real estate.

I agree though, it does seem a little crazy for someone trying to hire a hitman to off a family to get such a light sentence.

Bottom line; know the laws and try to stay on the right side of them.

best,
brian kc

I'm happy for Tony that he has his freedom again. He made a serious mistake and paid a high price for it. Let's just hope he's learned his lesson.

freedom, just another word for nothing left to lose, esp is you bend the law to stay in high $$$ action

moral to story:

once your game is"known" you can't outrun the nuts. ask Cliff, Tony, Louie, Keith, Denny, Cole, Cannonball, Wade. Jimmy, Grady, Ronnie, Jack, Buddy, etc.,etc (not implying that any of the above listed bent the law)

Those that get square have a much better shot
