Getting started in making pool tables

Pretty cool. Most kids would feel hard done by if they asked dad for a twenty to go hang at the hall and Dad said No.

This young guy had a rudimentary hammer, a few nails, saw, scrap lumber, cloth and a tin of marbles. So, he made his own fun and bet they have a blast playing pool. I was hoping he wouldn't catch a nasty sliver with his pool cue. Just didn't look like it slid well thru his bridge hand.

He will end up owning the Village Pool Hall some day.

And of course, the Chinese kid makes one with a Ball Return. If they had card board boxes that big in that kids village, someone would be living in it.

Glen should be along soon to mention what a crappy cloth job the kid did.

And of course, a lesson on how he would have done it.

I heard Glen was going to take this cloth job originally but the kid couldn't figure out where to let him park his trailer for the 2 months it would have taken to complete.

I think the kid showed more support for pool than either you or Floppage have put together:eek:

I was wondering when a comment like that would come up LOL, I was thinking 3rd post down, but took 4.

Mr. Brunswick, Greg Sullivan, Joe-bob Olhausen and others all began by making simple pool tables.

The fellow will create The Next Big Thing:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T1DaXBXBJ78

This was an amazing feat & to dream it before doing it, was a fantastic achievement.

This young fellow has a big heart & a can-do spirit. Wish we could actually find him & collectively assist him & his young friends in some way.

I'm in.

To a certain extent Glen, you are probably correct.

Except for, if I saw a neighbor kid trying something like that, I would probably take him into my shop and help him with it. At the very least, I would have let him use my staple gun.

And I could have probably found 6 old socks that could be used for pockets.

Only problem is, "IF" hasn't ever done anything:cool:

"If" being Hypothetical. The same as saying that "IF" I saw a neighbor or anyone else on the street, struggling with something and needing a hand, I would offer it.

You have no idea on what I have done in the past for our local league, really wasn't much at all. Yet, still more than many of the local league complainers have done.

So, what should I do if IF isn't good enuff. Book a Humanitarian Flight to Some Where Africa this week and start a Pool Table Foundation, helping kids of the Villages build pool tables? Hey, maybe you can come with me. Bring a staple Gun, ok.

Or maybe we can save money on flights and use your van to drive there.

You couldn't catch a ride with me even crossing the street:rolleyes:
