Without knowing who's already in the HoF, I would like to see Irving Crane, Mosconi, and Mizerak.

Without knowing who's already in the HoF, ....

14.1 Hall of Fame inductees:

2011 (first year) -- Ray Martin and Jerome Keogh
2012 -- Danny Diliberto and Jack Colavita
2013 -- Oliver Ortmann and Gene Nagy
2014 -- Jim Rempe and Frank Stellman

In addition, they are doing "group inductions by decades" and those inductees so far include Ralph Greenleaf, Frank Taberski, Erwin Rudolph, Jimmy Caras, Andrew Ponzi, Thomas Hueston, Alfredo de Oro, and possibly others.

Unsung Heroes

Gene Nagy, Frank "Sailor" Stellman, and Jack Colavita were inducted as Unsung Heroes. I think this category makes sense. We all know-or should know-about De Oro, Taberski, Greenleaf, Mosconi, Crane, Lassiter, et al.

My UH picks are Michael "Ziggy" Eufemia and Onofrio Lauri.

Looking at the list and having a little more understanding...Ralph Souquet and Mike Zuglan

These two. Really don't see how Wille could not have been the first having 15 World Championships.

The pattern seems to be that they are inducting two people per year -- a living top player and an "unsung hero" who may be living or dead.

In addition, they are picking up the deceased stars through "group inductions by decade." Mosconi will certainly be one of those.

Thanks for the info, and I hope so. Though Willie really wasn't an "unsung hero". Just simply the hero of Straight Pool. Straight Pool's popularity soon died after Mosconi.

No, Willie certainly would not be an unsung-hero induction, he'd probably be one of the greats in the "group inductions by decade" (unless they do something special for him).

$250 to join the 14.1 club in order to vote? Not quite.

Any 14.1 HOF that doesn't already include Mosconi, Greenleaf, Sigel, Hopkins, Mizerak and Varner isn't a HOF worth voting for, end of story.

You can say, "Yeah, but we like getting guys in that aren't already in other HOFs, etc, etc, etc..." But, then your HOF isn't a REAL HOF. If your HOF is representing the game of 14.1, my advice to you is to fix your HOF and put the best players in first and foremost.

I'm a big fan of many of your HOF selections.... that said, not a single one of them belongs in the 14.1 HOF before the above-mentioned players and there's not a single argument to the contrary that can hold its ground.

Sorry, it is what it is... outside of Ortmann and Martin, the 14.1 HOF isn't the varsity squad in regards to 14.1 history and THAT'S what the Hall of Fame SHOULD be.

Flame away, but "pay me $250 so you can vote for my baloney HOF" just doesn't fly. Good luck w/ your ventures .. sorry for taking a dump in your Cheerios.

I certainly would fully agree. When I think Straight Pool, I think of Mosconi, Mizerak, and Sigel in their respective eras. Without them as a foundation it is not much to it. Just wished there had not been so many years of absent 14.1 Championships, both Sigel and Mizerak would have won quite a few more of them (along with a few other players).

As it has been mentioned numerous times and done the past years, the players mentioned will be inducted automatically as we have been doing groups by decades.

Final ballot is being finalized now and released within the next 2 days.
Thanks for those who remembered and follow along all these years!

Warm Regards~
