Finnegan is a crook and a scumbag.

We need to know the number of the ball made because the ten does not count on the break and the one in the side does not count in many tournaments.

Hush money, lol? You guys do realize that "reality show stars" make McD''s burger flipping money, right?

If the show gets big, then they renegotiate things...

Eric

Oh, I know what they got paid, I don't think the OP did.... He was thinking about a new Tascarella when in reality he had a shot at a used Players with a warped shaft.

Good Lord, why don't people understand this? It is so obvious.

The people at Steinway had a break and run competition.

The pot grew fairly large, due to the fact that nobody at this establishment can run a rack of 10 ball (hmmm).

The OP bought in and his ticket was pulled.

The folks running the operation get real nervous,,, and decide on the fly to not let him compete,, but allow him to make a substitute.

The substitute is pulled into the back room to plot out how to screw the outsider.

They rack 10 balls instead of the normal 15 they do every week,, and the substitute makes a money ball on the break.

The TD craps his pants, but goes with the story they contrived earlier behind closed doors- clears the table and tells the outsider "Sorry, you didn't make anything that counts"

Everyone in the pool hall keeps quiet, fearing they will lose the money in the pot and the outsider fearing ruining his Anniversary weekend walks out the door without saying one word to anyone.

Outsider chews on this for a year, and now decides to now publicly let everyone know what a horrible person TD is.

Why can't everyone understand this?

No. He paid nothing. Like I said - he said a money ball wasn't made on the break. I've never heard of such a thing. I took my wife and left. Steaming.
No way in hell would i just walk out if this happened to me without some sort
of explanation from somebody on what the money balls were and why it did not count.

i just called finnegin..he feels baaad.
what really happened was the 100 people in steinway all got 18.00 and laughed at nuts all year long
so hes calling all of em

I've seen a lot of break&run pots. The crowd is not going to allow the tournament director to lie & screw the participant... outsider or not. There would be a commotion if something like this happened.

Unless said outsider managed to piss off the entire joint in the brief time they were there.

Ok glad you cleared that up! Can you fill us in on the Judge Crater thing now?

One post, by the OP yet, is NOT confirmation. Also the OP didnt seem to be paying too much attention and ran out of there in a minute. 10 Ball racks and 15 ball racks look the same if you aren't paying much attention. I have no idea how many balls were racked and so far i dont see enough evidence to confirm anything either way! JMHO

Well you can see and hear the difference when 10 or 15 balls are being racked and broken, with $1800 on the line I would think he would be watching both. But you never know, if a post by the OP is not confirmation on how many balls were being racked then hopefully Finnegan himself will post and help clear the air.

thats what i said at the start. all i see are basically repeat post now, everyone still trying to convert the other. Putting all things aside and splitting the blame right down the middle the major problem i had (and mentioned earlier) is how was there a "Hush" that went over the whole crowd during that said incident. There is always at least ONE (not a yell) person in any group that goes WHAT? (that was a yell). The OP makes no mention of the crowd "i don't think"

Bottom Line.
Break Pots are a joke, and EVERY breakout gets money stolen from it. I don't care where the hell its at or who's running it. When it comes to unaccounted for money, fishy shit always goes down.

Break pots benefit the room, but they want nothing to do with being the responsible party, it's just more nonsense in the pool world.

If this is the case, You got robbed my friend, and Finnegan got you, like he's got many more thru tourneys and other ventures.

Break pots in Houston everywhere outside people not in the tourney can buy tickets, and have any player in the tournament break for them. But in general, I don't trust any breakpot, seems all the $ never gets in the pot.

That's what I said. $180 A BALL? and i'm on a trip? I don't know what the split was with the breaker/shooter but the first man to touch those balls without me getting an explanation was feeling the wrath of the Kraken

Hows about we let this manlet loose in that place, im sure he could teach this finnegan guy a thing or two....
