I noticed many pool players (including pro) aim low on cue ball at address position irrespective of where they will hit the cue ball at the end. Is there a reason behind it?
Some people just prefer to sight their shots that way. The visual you see is more cue ball, without being obstructed by the cue. Works for some, not for others.
The pros also hit the cue ball lower and much soften than amateurs.
