Aiming low

I noticed many pool players (including pro) aim low on cue ball at address position irrespective of where they will hit the cue ball at the end. Is there a reason behind it?

Some people just prefer to sight their shots that way. The visual you see is more cue ball, without being obstructed by the cue. Works for some, not for others.

I aim low or high to find center cue ball.

Last Stroke Swipe

A lot of them have a last stroke swipe English that they have developed over a lot of time. Address low if youre hitting around the middle of the ball, Address Middle if you will be hitting higher up on the ball. You can make a lot of things work in pool. I did it when I was young sort of a way of putting FHE or BHE on the shots.

A lot of missed shots are missed from unintentional sidespin. That can happen from not aligning your body, and not hitting the CB along its vertical center. There are a lot of variables involved with proper alignment and seeing the vertical center of the CB.

The guaranteed vertical center of the CB. is where it touches the cloth. Aligning while aiming low helps to be sure you align with vertical center. Parallel shifts from that point to apply english if wanted is a way to shoot.

Lets look at another aspect of hitting it low. With the lights above the table, you look at what you determine where the center of the ball is. Actual center of the ball from under the light is just below the shadow of the ball under the light. That can give the idea to some that your hitting lower on the ball,,when in reality your just hitting true center.
