Take notice of where he says "If Raphael made A BALL you got paid ". Not if you made a money ball. This guy is a joke. He thinks he is a gangster. Since when does having an expensive watch and ring make you a good person? I have expensive watches too - I don't really know what it had to do with the situation. Anyway - you can see the character of the person that we are dealing with. Since he mentioned the Karate part of my life - I will say that he wouldn't be wise to start something physical with me. I have been training for 34 years and teach the Marine Corps each time I travel to Okinawa... Make up your own mind from all the info that I have provided you.
That's where I draw the line. If this guy wants it to be physical, then here is a chance to really put up or shut up. Here is also a chance to win back your money plus some. If he is taking this too far, then why don't you challenge him to 5K and see what happens man to man. Have a third party hold the money and when a guy quits or gets KO'd, then the winner gets paid. How's that for action? Better pay out than a break and run, which by the way, at my place I think it's 10 ball. Make one ball on the break and keep shooting in order. You can quit anytime and collect or keep trying and lose everything if you miss. If no one makes a ball on the break, the pot continues to grow until next time. That's what I am familiar with.Take notice of where he says "If Raphael made A BALL you got paid ". Not if you made a money ball. This guy is a joke. He thinks he is a gangster. I showed you the conversation in it's entirety. I could see it was not going anywhere productive.
Nuts4T,
I'm not trying to stir it up or anythingbut if you were my kid I would make you go back to Steinway Billiards and whoop Finnegan's ass.
Who knows, you might even get considered for a spot on the show.

I love it - our first "The Hustlers" controversy! Imma gonna call TMZ Sports...
I dunno - I dont know much but Finnegan is a pretty well respected guy around the NYC pool scene - it seems to me anyways - what with running the tourneys for Tony and what not
As someone who has been in the public eye in the past (thankfully not for my horrendous pool playing) - I have to say, it's a touch rank to come on here a year after the fact and do this all on AZB lol - like the OP couldn't have just simply facebook messaged him at some point to complain or whatever he needed to do?
Then, like the people's court, come on here after, if the OP couldn't have resolved this in private?
Him being on the show has nothing to do with this as the original incident happened a year ago - trying to address this now, now that the show is on, doesn't seem to make it any more pressing...lol
And sorry, again Im a touch lost, (and I know the chances to win more money are bigger) but is this really over the initial $20 put down? I don't mean to be insensitive the OP's sense of frustration, just trying to figure out the dollar amount initially put down
My advice to the OP - hey you had a great time in NY, you got to visit Steinway (which is indeed a great room), you and your wife had a great anniversary, so mission complete no? (Despite being short $20)
Anyways, back to the cheap seats ha
I still haven't figured out exactly what happened but I have a question. What is this "and what not" Finnegan is well respected for in New York?
About 60 seconds after I posted this original thread - Finnegan contacted me on Facebook messenger.
You were happier as a black boar owner![]()

About 60 seconds after I posted this original thread - Finnegan contacted me on Facebook messenger. I am on the billiards pages on there. My for sale posts match my AZ posts. That's the only way I figure he made the connection to who I was. His part of the discussion is on the left and the pictures - mine are on the right in blue.
I just spoke with Raph. You didn't get screwed at all, you just didn't know the rules and didn't bother to ask. It was a 10ball break and run, racked with 15 balls to make the break harder. He had to make a 1-10 on the break to cash and he didn't. Learn the rules before you freak out and put people on bast. Raphael is a good kid and would never screw anyone over. Not even a total stranger. As far as Finnegan goes, he pays when he loses and isn't going to hurt the rep of his tournaments over something like this.
I think you owe Finnegan a HUGE apology to be honest and while you're at it, you can apologize to Raphael as well.
The crux of the problem is Nuts4Tascarella's insists the rack was 10 balls, not 15. I also believe now that the rack was 15 balls. Since the shape of a 10 ball rack is the same as a 15 ball rack, his mind said 10 when in fact it was 15. When he didn't get paid when he thought he should, well you know how that goes...
Nuts4Tascarellas, an entire pool room full of people would not conspire against you for $180. it's time to admit you made a mistake and just go ahead and trust the story and testimonials that have unfolded here. Please believe me that having trust and understanding in our fellow human is an asset and you will not go far in life, love or business without trusting people. While caution should always be exercised, trust should be the default mode, not the exception. Mistrust others and they will do the same to you.
Finnegan, by not recognizing this was just a misunderstanding, you handled this poorly. I hope you learned something from this in the way you deal with problems in the future.
So I take it that all the balls above the ten balls are taken off the table after the break if a money ball is made?
