Finnegan is not a crook and a scumbag(and neither is cleary!)

Don't be so shy, tell us how you really feel. :)

By the way, if you've never seen the show, how do you know what kind of image it is portraying?

It's not that I disagree with your most prominent point, it's the fact that you seem to be under the impression that she show was intended to revive pool. It was not. And if the action on the show was somehow criminal, I would agree with you more, that it's perpetuating a bad stereotype, but all in all its pretty inert. It's a show about people matching up, playing for money. It may or may not inspire a few people to pick up a cue but it's certainly not going to scare anyone into believing that we're all a bunch of homeless bums out to steal your last dime if you dare step foot in a pool hall.

Relax chief, and maybe try some decaff :p

Decaffeinated sucks!!!

I definitely don't have a buffer between what I think in my mind and what I let out! I call it the way I see it:)

It's my main point that I'm trying to convey! I appreciate you see what I'm trying to say here. Somebody said I'm not a "true" fan of pool,,,, you obviously don't know me!

Sometimes you have to really think about things to see what is really going on. Sometimes the answer to the question is right in front of us(and sometimes it isn't!

Thanks Mr. Bond.

So,I am confused now:confused::confused::confused:
Is he a scumbag or he isn't ???
Should I visit him or not:confused:?
If I cross nearby should I stop for a visit or to avoid the place?
What should I tell Wendy about that place???
I fear for her, what if someone steals her???

Lol! I say this, go there and make your own opinion! A lot of people think I'm a scumbag and a lot of people think I'm a really nice guy! It just depends on who you ask and what type of relationship you have with someone!

I always say give it a shot, keep your guard up, and you will find out:)

Some people here think I'm a scumbag or jerkoff because I say what I mean and I mean what I say! They can't handle it! Oh well:) life is too short to worry about the little things!

Maybe Finnegan explained the rules to the shooter and didn't explain to the backer because he figured if the backer had any issues he would simply ask the shooter to clarify.

Finnegan probably didn't know the guy was on an anniversary vacation and would feel the need to evacuate the building and save his wife from the hassle of waiting for her husband to ask the shooter what happened.

So glad you solved the problems facing pool

Ya know, I'm trying to understand some people. I don't know you and you don't know me. That being said, do you really think a show about a bunch of "hustlers" and gamblers is going to REALLY catch on to the average viewer?

Has anyone really sat down and talked about the true state of pool?

Do people ONLY look at the prize fund of tournaments and use this information to say what the state of pool is in?

Let me give you and everyone else my screwed up analogy of pool players trying to resurrect the game. There are 10 people in a backyard looking at the dirt and everyone says, wow, we need to grow more grass here! Everyone agrees and says ok, go get grass seeds and throw it there and let's see what happens!

Did anyone talk about watering the new seeds? Did anyone talk about how much seeds to throw down? Did anyone check the soil? Did anyone do anything to figure out what's needed to get grass to grow?

Putting a show on tv talking about hustling and making games is not going to "help" pool! It's only going to hurt it!

If you care to, you can go look at one my previous posts to get just one idea!

When I saw the Fox interview with 2 of the players on the show, one of them made(IMHO) a very bad comment, about matching up! This isn't going to gain followers, I've never seen the show, and because the show is about the exact reasons why pool is in the shitter, I don't care to watch it!

Don't get me wrong, I'm all about matching up and having a go at some cash! I'm all for that, but look at the type of people that are doing that I real life! A bunch of degenerates! How many real good pool players have real money? I'm not talking about millions, I'm talking about having a very good steady income, a home,(that they paid for themselves), there own vehicle! Oh and by the way,,,, the money that they make,,,, is it declared? Do they pay taxes on it? I'm not talking about a few hundred here and there, I'm talking about thousands!

See, I'm a hard working person who goes to work everyday, I pay my taxes and pay my bills. When I see people who don't contribute anything to society, at least something truly positive, I look at them as a waste! I don't care how much talent a person has, they need to contribute something positive to society!

Now, I ask you this, what do the pool players on the "hustlers" contribute to society?

A quick primer on the "state" of Pool today. It's thriving in China (one sixth of the world's population lives there!), with thousands of large poolrooms in cities across this immense nation. The top women players are sports celebrities over there, earning healthy six figure salaries from prize money and endorsements. Even the men have some healthy money up for grabs in several Chinese tournaments each year, Darren Appleton winning 100K in the last big Eight Ball tournament. Not chump change in anyone's book!

Over here in the USA, we're struggling with very few major events and a shrinking population of players and poolrooms. The top pros are increasingly relegated to high entry, small field Invitational events where the calcutta can be bigger than the main purse. The league systems and bar pool in general remains steady as she goes, with the great majority of players participating here.

There has been very little professional pool on TV here for a few years, unlike Asia where you can watch pro pool at least once a week, often in reruns of American tournaments like DCC and the U.S. Open. If you want to watch top flight pro pool here, there is always a good choice of online streaming to chose from.

I for one am glad to see a reality show based on pool. I was unsure what I would see the first time I tuned in but was pleasantly surprised and pleased when I did. For the most part it looked like the same conversation you hear any time two players are matching up. There was actually some real "reality" to it and I appreciated that. Thank God the players are not complete amateurs, with all of them having some skills and one of them being a top notch player.

I think the mix of personalities is good and I enjoy most of the interactions between them. It already appears to be attracting some new blood to our sport and that's a good thing. My opinion is that The Hustlers will only help pool in general, bringing added interest to our game and giving it some much needed visibility. I only hope the ratings are good enough to continue into season two and beyond.

Finnegan is not a scumbag, especially over that particular break & run pot.

In Colorado this incident would be deemed a hate crime against the Irish.
I'm not Irish, I don't really like those little leprechaun's, just bring me some luck and get the hell out of here.

I hope your right sir:)

Either way, my business is doing very well and I can only hope pool goes up here in the states. That being said, I know my words come across as being negative(and they are), but I hope some see what I'm trying to say!

did i mention that everyone should watch the show?did i mention the op of the other thread was wrong?ok ok spoiler alert IM on one of the next 3 shows

What the hell is wrong with you?

You must be one kinky sunumabich to want Pam Anderson to come over with Santa and for the man to be the one who stays.

Can we know what's with your avatar, Walter? The short version please.

We pay taxes just like you. We're professionals in multiple fields which include pool. Show pool players with happy marriages and relationships and homes. No one is on drugs on the show. I think it shows the kind of people you'd want around the game honestly....that's just me though

Okay, I'm gonna watch the show,,,congratulations on getting a spot in it. :clapping:

But I still think Finnegan, at best, was less than the perfect host.

I found these two on the internet.

Revenge is a dish best served cold. Historians are not sure where the saying originated, but it means that revenge is best served not fresh after the insult occurred, but after enough time has passed so that the target won't see it coming

It Takes A Big Man To Admit When He's Made A Mistake. It Takes An Even Bigger Man To Apologize.

That being, these things have real life consequences. A few years ago it was reported by one poster that Paul Huebler closed shop, and stopped accepting returns. Many here on AZ, without bothering to check facts. I accepted it on face value, and when I called up Paul Huebler to find out where I can have shafts made that's when I discovered he was still open. Paul Huebler was aware of what was being said on AZ, but had no way to respond and felt it ruined his business.

who wants to bet this thread is gone in hours if not minutes

nuts4tascarellas is an idiot who didnt know the rules and needed to vent his frustration
