Yeah I left work today and can't believe my boss didn't give me a hug on the way out for a job well done.
My dog did lick me when I gave him a treat.
Beyond that, it ain't over til the fat lady sings --- or in this case Barry singing.
There are still rooms available, don't forget to use the USOPEN code to get the $89.00 a night rate but we don't have any casinos around here.
For the record I believe in punishing people for wrong doing and giving them a pat on the back for doing the right thing. Barry deserved all the criticism he received in prior years, including from me. I prefer to acknowledge him for doing the right thing this year and hope it encourages him to continue to do this every year from here on in. This makes a lot more sense to me than continuing to dwell on the past. But to each their own.
This kind of reminds me of when someone screws up and later realizes it and says they are sorry. My feeling is that it's better to accept the apology than continuing to chastise them for messing up. Carry on!
As usual Jay, you put it better than I can. Barry is trying to run the tournament correctly & he wants to have a great event for players & fans alike. I know that, despite what anyone else may say or think, I'm still so unbelievably excited to be a part of putting the Open together for the second year. As a fan, I'm even more excited especially since I saw yesterday that Tony Robles is coming. I look forward to working with you again Jay, see you in October! :smile:

The truth is Jay, that Barry was dragged, kicking and screaming, by YOU and others, to reach the point that we are now at. Without the arm twisting, which has been tried before and failed, Barry wouldn't have changed a thing. Barry gets no accolades from me. He has a fiduciary and legal responsibility to the players who pay to play in his event. There has been many times in the very recent past that his lack of payments to the players broke laws and were actually felonies.

Roberta, I just called the Sheraton Norfolk Waterside as listed on the US OPEN website to book a room and the moron girl that was " helping " me on the phone informed me I had the wrong hotel; they were having no such event and told me I should call a hotel called " The Loft " as it is probably there. LOL!
BmoreMoney...I'd call back and ask to speak to the hotel manager. Then inform them of the lunacy of their employee not knowing about the US Open event being held on their property.

Oh one other thing. There will be a parade down Main St. in Norfolk the day before the tournament starts to honor Barry Behrman. I will be the baton twirler leading the parade (I always wanted this job) and behind me will be the Norfolk high school band, followed by 128 naked virgins, each one dancing with one of the tournament players. I'm excited that Barry added this to the pre-tournament festivities.
Yeah prob should but I'll leave that to the people working for the event. At this point in life I have no patience for absolute incompetent people; therefore I just chose to avoid it. Honestly I was totally on the fence between booking room or coming in my rv - they just made the decision very easy for me so thank you Sheraton. I remember Jam saying awhile back they had some really sweet suites there so if I were able to book one of those for 24-31 I was gonna do that but otherwise I'd prob be better off in rv anyway. Oh well.

No I sure didn't as I was frustrated cause I didn't really want to get no one in trouble nor did I want any discounts or whatever I just wanted to get off phone. I thought I had the right place ( as per OPEN website ) so I provided her with as much info as I could - at the end I even asked her " but you do have a large area for conventions and the like thought right? " that's when she said no but I should try the Loft , that was prob it cause the loft is owned by Sheraton. Lol If you are really concerned about it prob a fair chance if you were to call right now u mat get same girl, although a second call for the same thing in such a short period of time may actually cause her to look at her computer, book of events, OR EVEN ASK someone else since she doesn't know lol. I know this is not a big deal, I just don't want to deal with it that's all. I had morons aggregating at hotel last year when I went to SBE. But tanks anyhow for the info, see ya down there!
