Top 57 Players on Earth

The naysayers don't understand the potential or the plan.

FargoRate is the best thing to happen to pool in years.

To deny that is either nor understanding the system or just not open to the reality of past performance. So please - if you really have the interests of pool at heart - give the system a chance. You might be pleasantly surprised.

You really are grandiose in your approach aren't you.

We get it Mark.
You endorse it, it must be the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Believe me, we get it.

And that is not to say that it isn't a great rating system. It is extremely accurate for being in it's infancy. There is no denying that.

But you just have to learn to take criticism with a grain of salt.
I would think that any criticism of it and how it may actually be improved upon IS GOOD.
Just you can never see things like that because the instant someone criticizes anything and it doesn't agree with you and your ego, you immediately become obtuse and obstinate.
Any criticism is evil simply because it doesn't blindly agree with you.

I know I know.
You would rather a phone call. I know.
Ain't happening.

If Fargo is truly as awesome as you proclaim, why not just sit back and let Fargo prove itself?

There is no need to get bent out of shape about it...that is...unless Fargo needs to succeed to implement some next step that is in the planning. Phase II.

Please don't think that we are all naive and don't see the bigger picture.

At age 21, I think we can now refer to Siming Chen as a woman ;-)

I have a lot of respect for your ability to clock player's speed Chris. But I think you be aware of just how dominant the top few women are. Siming is 32 points above the #5 woman Chieh Yu Chao and is 40 points above Jasmin Ouschan, the top non-asian female player.

It will be interesting to see how Ga-Young Kim (766) fares this week in the Tornado Open 10-ball event.

She is not playing-just hanging out

Yes I have .
I think she is 1 of the best .
But she is not in the top 100 of men players .
Maybe you and gene would back her to play me ?

I'll tell you what... according to FargoRate John Fields is the #99 male player in the world.

I don't personally know how well he plays, but if you think he can beat Siming Chen in an even headset then I need to save up a few months of paychecks and bet the whole load on Siming Chen.

Here is what I said:

Fargo has the potential to change pool. The more it is utilized, the more accurate it gets. It will provide a great tool for knowing a players abilities.

The naysayers don't understand the potential or the plan.

I only wish more people would actually embrace the concept of a standard rating system. I just don't get where all the animosity comes from. The goal should be to improve the world of pool - and FargoRate will do that. The more widely accepted it is, the more accurate it will be and the better it will be for all of pool.

I applaud Mike Page and Steve Ernst and all their efforts. CSI endorses the whole concept and will hopefully be helpful in making it become the 'gold standard' of rating players.

And hopefully some of the critics will be just a little more patient, a little more understanding, and maybe do a little soul searching as to what they are trying to accomplish with all their negative attitudes.

FargoRate is the best thing to happen to pool in years.

My comments:

I'm not mad, hurt or anything else. I am suggesting that the goal should be to better the game of pool. I don't know where you are coming from. I did not criticize or become obstinate. I really hope everyone does give FargoRate a chance - which seems to be what you are also suggesting (if Fargo is so great, why not sit back and let Fargo prove itself).

So am I missing something??

I have a feeling Chris' list might be slightly different than yours (or Fargos) and include players not on that top 100 list.

Apparently, you are.
You should not criticize "naysayers" as they all have reasons for why they think what they do, wether they are good reasons, or bad.
Plus it is too early for that with Fargo.

If the system is good, and has the potential to change pool, why does it matter what a group on this forum might think about it in the grand scheme of things?

Why even engage in the discussion?

Come on man, anyone who's been here long enough knows you cannot stand negative comments about pool anything.
Whether they be about pool, or a particular player, or what have you, and most especially if it's about something you endorse, or something you've done.
You've been very consistent about this over time so there is no getting around it.
That is what you consistently do.

Seriously. People talk about Fargo, and something negative pops up you just can't help yourself from chiming in. You are incapable of leaving it alone.

When you jump into the mix and say "THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR FEEDBACK, WE APPRECIATE IT! THE FARGO TEAM ALWAYS APPRECIATES GOOD CRITICISM TO HELP US BETTER UNDERSTAND HOW THE PRODUCT CAN REACH MORE PEOPLE" then I will believe you have stepped away from your standard Modus Operandi.

But that never seems to come out of you really. Almost ever.

If you can't take a step back and see that for what it is, I don't know what to tell you.

Ya your missing the need for the system in the first place it's a nice novelty but who really cares ,,

To have a girl in the top 57 in the world is way off .
And yes no girl would beat skyler day in and day out .
They can beat him sets like races to 9 and 7 .
But if they play a 3 day match no chance .

A 3 day match?

What's that all about? I genuinely think there's something wrong with you people.

Chris, a lot of these idiots in here don't get the short race vs longer race concept in that it will identify the better player. They don't understand variance and think a short race, alternate break tourney like the world 9-ball determines who the best player is. They also think that a lot of these foreign clowns are better than SVB in rotation games, lol

Lol. Awwww, vetty. Bless.

It is undoubtedly trending upwardly so there surely are those who care-I like the ratings and think it's amazing that a totally objective system could be so accurate so early in its existence. Astounding!!

Strongly recommend you drop the 'denier' line of attack, which has CTE-like overtones.

Let the product do the talking.

Im normally a fan of your posts but im thinking this time you were dying to say the above and just slid it in here where it really didn't quite fit.

It's already been proven here in these forums that some 'naysayers' had no clue how Fargo works. Im guessing that is very true still.
