How Many Have Made Pro from AZB?

Brian, while you may be correct here, Johnnyt has a history of a bunch of whining/complaining threads that he creates so sometimes its like flipping a coin on if he is serious or not. He also continues to go into other peoples' threads bashing them. Gene is a prime example...you know someone who pretty much dedicates their life to trying to teach pool to others. Even if he disagrees with what Gene teaches, this is the type of person Johhnyt is...below is just one example of multiple including multiple posts in Genes main thread.

Matt;

You are a good man and so are Geno and Johnnyt, I believe.

I also think both Geno and Johnny possess a lot of personal experience and knowledge of our game.

It's apparent that they don't agree in their methodology for aiming and this topic had become so contentious on here that the mods had to make a subforum for it, as I know you are aware.

It doesn't surprise me that there can be such back and forth; though, admittedly, Johnny's input in the example you posted above could have been less harsh.

With that said, we're all here to share our thoughts and opinions and so I'm not sure I'd call a foul.

best,
brian kc

brian you are someone who always appears to be a "nice guy" and truly looking to better himself and or the people around him.
i am the type who gives you a chance or two then move on as i am not here to save the world. that being said i have a hard time allowing people to just randomly shit on others while they do so from a position to change nothing(you will find i chime in with alot of sarcasm) when was the last time the person in question came on here and said something to the tune of-hey i watched a payperview and was happy i got to see so many killers play in one tourney? or anything positive for that matter dont feel bad if you cant defend the defenseless- this person isnt playing the villian they are just trying to be perverse in most situations(btw im pretty sure he has me blocked due to my harsh realities ) enjoy the rest of your day

So stupid.

There are tons of forums where people discuss pro baseball, pro basketball, and pro football. How many of those guys became pro at those sports by having an account on an internet message board?

None you jackass.

You complain about the state of pool but then expect anyone who wants to offer their opinion to not say anything because they aren't shooting .900 on accustats.

STFU and GTFO. Thanks

Ummmm.. Mr. Wilson. You have action.:wink:

Perhaps a more relevant question might have been: who on AZB has made discernible improvements in their game since joining? ...and how much of their improvement can they directly credit to the advice, products, or knowledge accumulated from this forum?

I can say that I have learned a lot from this and other forums. No direct measure on how much though.

What is it with all this 'knowledge' nonsense? Kids in the uk learned to play on their own, in their bedrooms. No instruction. No books. No dvds. Nothing. Nada.

Only those without talent need your 'knowledge' - and they will be mediocre til the end of time, no matter what they do.

Rubbish as usual from the resident garbage man. you never disappoint.

Chill down , folks

More silver bullets :grin-square:

Without reading the thread....sorry.

I'm workin' on it, Johnnyt, but I've ran into a couple
of road blocks. My game isn't quite good enough
and I can't afford to leave a great paying job to put
in the necessary effort it would take to be at that
next level.

Would it even be worth it if I could??????

No

I've been on here about 11 years. You would think with all the silver bullets sold on here, the 100's of APA members, and the same 20 know it alls on here, that you would see a few graduate to pro level from here in 10 years. I wonder why this is. Johnnyt

Johnny, there is no way you are so ignorant that you think just reading a book on a subject will automatically make you a pro in that field. Knowledge is only the beginning. It's actually utilizing that knowledge over time that makes one a pro. And, to actually be a pro, that means a lot of time utilizing what one learns. If one never learns, they never will improve.

The vast amount of knowledge on here is just a stepping stone to improvement. What one actually does with that knowledge is up to each individual. If one desires to dismiss it all, and doesn't get the same knowledge from some other source, they will never improve.

I find posts like this from you rather perplexing. Your history on here is of a former very good player that learned in the trenches. With vast amount of table time, and tips here and there.

Then, you had a stroke, and all that knowledge was lost. You came on here asking for help, and received a lot of help from members on here. You then credited this forum with helping you get back to being a A player again.

Now, lately, you seem to knock any kind of instruction given on here. Doesn't make any sense on why you would do that, when it has helped you so much to get back what you had lost.????

You admit your game has got worse --worse!! -- since you've starting using CTE.

Huh? I have never said any such thing. My overall "game" is worse since I stopped playing all day every day. My knowledge and shots that I know and aiming accuracy is way higher now than it has ever been.

My execution is terrible, my desire is low, my body aches, my vision is decreasing and I rarely play....but I have learned a lot from the positive people on these forums and nothing, absolutely nothing, from the negative ones.

No, they didn't. Anyone with any showing of interest some skill was coached from early on.

Snooker instruction was all over tv since the 50s.

Lol. Just curious, but is there any country you've never lived in you're not an expert on?

Snooker instruction all over the tv since the 50s. I ask you.

So, has your game got better or worse since you learned CTE?
