*** Mosconi Cup 2015 Updates Thread ***

Starting with Deuel in the first two matches doesn't seem like the best move.

There are requirements in the matches that make it so a player will have to fall into a spot. Every player must play a singles match and Corey is obviously the last American who has not played. I would have to map out the doubles but Corey either could only play in the first doubles match today or at least the second doubles match today, but he would have to be in one of them.

Meanwhile on Euro you have the guy with the highest win% ever and he's only playing once. They must like it close cause I don't love their lineup today. The USA lineup makes perfect sense with what is available.

They already shot their wad with Boyes -- just like SVB is only playing once today.

Mark Wilson seems to say here (at about one minute) that the lineup for all 4 days was set from the beginning.

Correct - you have to map it out so you don't get stuck in a corner on the doubles matches. Plus you obviously want what you consider your best player (SVB) playing the most matches early. You don't want to lose 11-4 and only have him had played three times.

Going back to this briefly as I was too busy watching but although the ref made a mistake Boyes acted immature to just sit back down despite the ref telling him he made a mistake. As for picking the ball back up I believe he may have said it because Boyes had been placing it the whole duration that the ref was informing the coaches about the mistake he made as Boyes had the bih after informing him and had clearly been placing it while the ref wasn't watching.

Pretty brilliant move by Boyes. Wait until the ref walks away to place the cue. When he comes back and sees the ball there he asks him to replace it. Who's to say that ball was placed legally in the first place?

Seems like Daz has Shanes number, and Feijen has Bergmans in singles play. Pretty excited to see the two flip: BERGMAN BEAT APPLETON, AND SHANE BEAT FEIJEN.

I have been living in a cave and did not watch all the matches. What is this about Ball Cleaner Gwapo Boyes?

Are you worried?

Yes I am worried that if Europe wins cup on Day 3, Gwapo will take off his shirt and show his humungous manboobs and kill pool viewership permanently :D

Day 3

They have it here as 3 doubles on Day 3 initially but looks like they have changed it to 2 doubles so total 7 doubles instead of 8 doubles

Seems Daz does get up for beating Shane, but Feijen has hardly proved to have Bergmans number yet.

If Feijen ever matched up with Justiin, in longer then one race to 5, I would bet a chunk on the kid from St. Louie.

I'll also add that snucar needs a reality check.
