I hear all these comments "we are going in the right direction " we are building a team " " " we need to continue the year round effort to build our team" " I like the direction we are going" " we played very respectful " BS
EUROPE DOES NOT BOND ALL YEAR LONG ! Europe does not have a program to bond and developed a team all year long ! The pick some and some Qualify and they kick our ass most years lately. USA HAD A GOOD CHANCE IN 2012 in Europe we choked in the final match . 2013 was abomination for many reasons if you don't know the facts keep quite. Europe picks and qualifies a team and wins as of late. We need to do the same and not go with sentimentality but pick the best for the job. It is not always about who won this tournament or that tournament but who brings the best and most contribution to the team. That is why Phil Mickleson was a Captain pick for Presidents Cup. Go do your home work please before you comment from ignorance

May help to draw them all together a little bit more...
Take their mind off the game and pressure and make sure everyone is taking great care of that cue :thumbup:

2012 was actually pretty similar to this year. 9-6 going into the final day, Europe looming comfortable throughout. The US put their big guns out first and got some good wins to draw level... but they were always going to lose those last two matches going on form throughout the week: Shuff had struggled while Melling had looked unbeatable, and Dechaine was having a really hard time while Nick vdB had been playing well.

Or, they get to play with their own cue but have to share the same cube of chalk.

I agree. Too many excuses, instead of not good enough. Starting to become a pool nation of losers i am afraid. Sad to see this.

I will offer once again my services to help them win. But will be overlooked as the team is building, that's 6 in a row, and the last 2 under the same captain. I would resign if i lost 2 out of 2. I need only one chance to win not keep going every year.

Are you saying Phil Mickleson should play next year's Mosconi Cup?

The European model of "pool as sport" is fundamentally conducive to camaraderie and, thus, team events.

If you can't beat them, join them.

Or, maybe we should hand American pool back to the lone wolf degenerates who did nothing to ensure the future of the game in this country?

I bet Phil Mickleson would know what to do.
 
For almost two weeks people continue to post all the solutions , we need tours , we need sponsors , we need a compilation of teams to qualify a great team, we need a few more years with the present team ! Add up all the solution submitted and then ask yourself a simple question . DOES Europe do all that BS and do they offer up excuses ? All the gimmicks are not the solution

How does one determine " who brings the best and most contribution to the team", without looking at the results of their previous play?

Do we simply take their word for it?
Phone a friend?
Ask their mom?
Have them fill out an application?

Who brings the best WHAT?
Contributes the most WHAT?
 
Point is it is not necessarily who won three months ago but a result of experience over the years which is why as stated previously you have a Phil Mickleson on Presidents cup this year even tho his year based on tournaments was not up to par
