Shouldn't the women get MC points? What if Karen Corr won the next 3 MC point events, wouldn't that give her the right to go?

And I know Turning Stone/AZ listed Joey Cicero as USA but according to the announcers and Joey's Facebook page - he is Canadian. Ernesto is more of an American than Joey. :)

Wondered the same thing. Jennifer B should have points also

It would do am sure. These tournaments are 'Open' by definition anyone can enter and win which would include all other entitlements. However, I'm not the voice of... So who knows.

Awesome tournament...................it's just a shame that the payouts at a tournament of this caliber are so low. Not blaming anybody. It's just the state of the game in this country.

Is Karen now an American citizen?

The point schedule used in post #1 is the Category 2 schedule used in 2015. Has there been any announcement from Matchroom Sport yet that it is remaining the same for 2016?

Wow, I thought TS was a major? Only 8k to first?

That is one of the reasons that a lot of players are in China or over seas right now. I think there is more money available or being paid out. Like any major sport that is based on prize money very few are real sucessful and rely on sponsors. Even NASCAR for as large and sucessful as it is the drivers could not afford to compete without sponsors.

What I don't understand is reading about track runners getting sponsored in the millions. How many watch or participate in events like that to get that kind of sponsorship? I don't know of anyone that attended a pro track event or even where and when they are held.

🎱

Paying down to 32 with such a small first place prize in a major is a bit much IMO. Maybe pay to 12th or 24th or something. If you stopped at 24 that's another 2400 dollars that could have been split up.

Nike Adidas rebok...

Nike Adidas and rebok for starters...

Jaden

She became a citizen early last year.

Wedge

That makes me feel good...not even sure why.
Karen is one of my favourite players....
...and got a heart the size of a grand piano.

I think it's time the Stone winner did the same thing.....
...along with some of the other long time residents....

It's their new home

It probably isn't the payouts , it is that they probably don't cover expenses to fly there or for hotel and food except for the top 4 . I think alot of the players are from the region , but if it is a 3 hour drive for Danny D from Buffalo i bet he didn't drive home to sleep and he isn't playing and probably had his hotel paid for .

This a dead money tournament without a calcutta. Seems well run and nobody knows the cost of using the facility or much sponsorship money comes in . I doubt Mike Zuglan is making a killing .

I agree totally! But I'll say this, its too bad this type of tournament can't be run monthly! I can see the top 12 making out "ok"! And figure the top 24 will constantly be in the mix for a win,,, on monthly basis, the tourney would do well for players!

Oh yeah, its the "getting it to happen MONTHLY" thing;)
